How do you make a signature?

I'm wanting to start and make signatures for people who want them but I'm not sure how to make them! Can anyone help me?

Secondly, to make signatures you more or less, need to have the knowledge to make them already A.K.A. experience with programs like Photoshop or Gimp. I recommend to just Google it and do some research. Some of the signatures I saw in the marketplace didn't look too over complicated so it shouldn't be hard.

It all depends on what you've got.

Load up your image program of choice. For me it's ye-olde-photoshoop.

Googled some images. Tried to find something I'd like to make a signature out of. Really it could be anything.

Made a new document with the right proportions.

Decided in the end to go with a nice image of Jetstream Sam. Magic-ed out the background in photoshop.

Added a background and a couple more google images. Used layer effects to blend them in a bit

Color theory that stuff, blend it, add your name, and you've got a signature.
