How do you keep the game interesting?

hello i have been playin AC NL since october, done alot of TT and resetted my town once, im just wondering how everyone manages to keep the game interesting to play everyday etc

I restarted my town a few weeks ago, so thats something.

I set ridiculous long-term goals for myself. xD;

I want to get my permanent villagers for my themed town, but I'm restricting myself from getting them from the forums: they have to come either from my main town as campers/random move ins or from my TTing town.
I want to get the complete catalog.
I want to hit the cap on bells, 999,999,999.

If I always have something to work towards, then I always have something to do.
