How do you get star fragments?

Hi, so yesterday night was a clear night (no meteor shower) and I was able to wish on 5 shooting stars. Today I checked all my beaches but there were no star fragments. I think I might have time traveled a day into the future and then back. Last time I wished on stars the same thing happened. What is going on?

If you time travel, you have to go to the next day and collect them or else they disappear! I've done this by accident many times >_<

i have a meteor shower on 12/16/20. I TT to that date and make my wishes. the TT 12/17/20 to collect. IF I need more I TT back to 12/16/20 then repeat.

You can only pick them up the next day. If you go forward or back, they'll disappear.

Just to be clear- TTing itself isn't the issue, it's going backward that is. TTing forward to the next day to collect them is 100% fine and you'll get them as normal! And I believe you can only get them the very next day, going forward more than one day would mean you couldn't get them, either.
