I've seen so many different things. Each room furnished by sets, decorated randomly, etc.
Personally, I have an upstairs Nintendo room, downstairs music/Asian inspired room, a bedroom, kitchen, study, and a main room.
So, how do you furnish?
Second question is, do you have a Nintendo room?
I've three rooms so far: main room; upstairs; basement. The main room is just a storage at the moment.. once the left/back/right rooms are in place: one will be really girly; another music-related; the last one Asian-inspired. The main room will be a mix of a kitchen/lounge. Upstairs is a bedroom. The basement is slowly being converted into a boxing gym.
No Nintendo room. As a rule, I don't actually consider myself a Nintendo fan! ^^; *hides*
Only two of my rooms are really decided right now and they only way to describe them is that one of them is my Egbert Room and the other is a Fruit-alicious Room.
I don't have any themed rooms yet. I'm just kind of putting in furniture that I like. When I have my house fully upgraded and a very full catalogue I'll start doing decorating.
Comfy, quirky and livable. My favorite rooms are the polkadot den, music room and formal living room. Lyle hates my style, but visitors think my house is pretty cool. (Too bad they don't do HHA ratings!)
I am just in the midst of redoing my rooms. I have the main area with the mermaid set, the left is empty, the right is regal/wood, the back I am converting into a tropical island, the upstairs is my chic, city life apartment room, and my basement is a japanese them (but I am wanting to change it too)
I've got a kitchen, a bedroom, and a living room/den so far. My Nintendo room is in the museum though. I generally match furniture but don't collect full sets, and I rarely match wallpaper/floors with the furniture. Then I toss in items that I like. Right now I've got a bicycle, a palm tree lamp, and some lucky cats in my living room along with a few minimalist furniture pieces. My bedroom is mostly Modern Wood but I had it customized at Re-Tail. And my kitchen is just a mix of kitchen pieces for now.
I have the mermaid set (missing some pieces) in my main room, which is the room I'm mainly focussing on until I collect the sets I want for the other rooms, but I will replace it with the sweets series as soon as I can get it and move the mermaid stuff to another room. The aim is a full house of fairytale themed stuff, just for the points. Once I reach the maximum points, I'll just go with whatever I like best.
My upstairs room has some polka dot stuff and a mannequin that looks like she's singing.
And then I have a gyroid room and a nintendo room. These two will be replaced by proper furniture once I acquire things I want. I'm not really a nintendo fan either, but I feel compelled to accumulate all the nintendo things. I should just sell it all... Or put it in the museum.
My main room is customized regal furniture, with other bits and bobs. Its not purely just a 'furniture set only' room ^ ^
Upstairs is a customized alpine room, again with other non-set furniture.
Right room is the mermaid room.
My house is classy, exotic, and cool. My main room is a persian/african theme with classic furniture and a fossil center piece. Upstairs is a mixture of sleek/modern furniture with the cityscape wall. The basement is a mess right now but I'll be turning it into a rococo study with tribal masks at the entrance, an ebony paino, and a fireplace. My back room is a ranch themed kitchen which I modified to make all the ranch furniture beige. My right room is a cabana themed bathroom with a marble tub.
Really loving the look of it so far (besides the basement). Still have some work to do.
I am personally not too big on having a "set" only because some items in a set I like could look a lot worse than something I have. I usually set things in my house the way I would in an ideal real life living situation So I have a basement with just random stuff (washer, freezer, chairs and lounge) and I have the main room as a living room and a side room currently being used as a Tatami room and the kitchen has most of the appliances and a dining room area. The bed room is just your ordinary bed room..a computer desk, some accessories and lamps, dresser, closet table, bed...etc.
I'm working on sets for each of the rooms I have, but I will probably redo that once I have all of the rooms in place. My front room is modern wood, upstairs is gemmed blue, I have the left hand room that I'm doing in sleek, and my right hand room that I'm doing in kiddie.
I am working on getting sets for each room. I like things to match.
You are welcome to visit my town via dreams to see for yourselves.
I have a mermaid bathroom. My main room is my living room which I am trying to complete in Modern Wood. I have a music room which I am trying to make using the sleek range. My Kitchen uses the Cabana range. My upstairs room is my bedroom, it's Alpine. My basement is my utility room.
My main room was sort of thrown together with various Nintendo items and random furniture items. My upstairs is my complete Balloon series bedroom, along with a guest room in the basement. The basement is more of a regal room. The room on the right is undecided.
Main floor as the living room, main floor's right room as the toilet (I needed one! :V), main floor's left room as the kitchen, second floor as my bedroom, basement as a hobby room and the downstairs one is for random stuff.
I love designing rooms in AC, and usually mix everything up, deliberately avoiding rooms that feature mainly one style of furniture. Anything too matchy-matchy makes me feel uncomfortable. I do like having "ordinary" rooms though- I gotta have a nice kitchen and a nice bathroom!
Main Room: All roco furniture with K.K Hypno playing
Used to be: All exotic furniture, with Throne and Lucky Cat with K.K Oasis playing, Egyptian theme
Right now my house is just full of random furniture. I have two of the three extra rooms, the attic (bedroom) and the basement. When everything is fully expanded, I'll start matching sets to get all the HHA rewards (until the golden mailbox)
After that though, I'll design my house with a fairly realistic modern minimalist theme with a kitchen, bathroom, music room and a game room in the basement.
At the moment my main room is mermaid theme, my back room is balloon theme and upstairs is alpine theme. When my house is fully renovated I am going to go for the whole house to be fairy tale theme, I am working on outside as well so far I only have the door, fence and letterbox.
