I've always wanted to hear other people's opinions.
I haven't been on bell tree long but when i first created an account i couldn't believe the currency exchange rate and prices for some items, especially hybrids. I will admit i've profited off of them but it was such a bother paying 99k per flower, especially when 80% of my blue roses were hacked in and won't breed so i have no chance of growing them myself. I'd say that i have at least 1000 flowers so you do the math lol. While i like the reward system of posting and earning bells that you can use to buy things to save in game bells i still think the rate of 1tbt-200kigb is ridiculous

I think that this is so true. I hate the exchange rate but earning tbt is so easy. All you do is post.

I agree. 200K to 1 tbt is too much.

At the beginning I thought 1 tbt is 20K bells but when I found out it's 200K my heart literally fell off lol.

Ps why are u not replying to PMs? Just wondering. ;)

Woah I didn't even realize that the rate is 200igb to 1tbt. That's literally crazy omg. I guess it's too far in to change it now and the whole site is sort of adjusted to these prices but dang. Still crazy.

Meh I don't mind so much either way. TBT is so easily acquired that even paying 1 for 1 to me isn't that bad. Also I'm really lazy and rarely make money in game so TBT is the perfect currency for me to use. I just made some dough for hybrids just by posting this ;) the only thing I think is a bit crazy is the price that some people resell collectibles for. I don't understand how a tiny pixel can be worth more than a persaonlised commissioned artwork, even if it's like a collector's thing :/

Haha I never make igb that often so I've relied on this more and more. Even though I only created my account a couple days ago. :/

ya i hear u honestly. i've given up on some of the nicer collectibles at this point.

but i don't find the exchange rate that bad. what's bad is transferring a lot of bells at once. they couldn't find a better way to transfer bells with the update?? really????? >___>

In the game? IF that's the case then I 100% agree. I was transferring 6 million bells to someone the other day and it took forever. Plus, he kept having to go mail himself the bells. Come on Nintendo... Maybe if we could have unlimited bells in our pockets but not in our actually bells amount?...

LOL yes in game bells xD i've always wanted like an extra tab at the bottom that's kinda like your profile card, but instead it's a debit card or something that will display your bells and u can easily pay your friend or whatever like venmo haha.

LOL I would love to see Nintendo make a Venmo-type system online for ACNL. Trading would be soo much easier.

I don't mind it so much (saying this as someone who just spent loads of TBT on hybrids lmao). I hate breeding flowers--for me, it takes too long and it's like the one task in Animal Crossing I simply don't do. I love that I have somewhere I can go where there's a person that will give me hybrids for just posting a sentence or two.

I use this forum and reddit for trades and stuff. On reddit, it is strictly a bartering system--you either trade with items you have on-hand or in-game Bells. It feels sort of limiting to me now, after being here. I like that here I have options! And honestly, if you don't spend your TBT like crazy, it's kinda easy to save up lots! I find most things are very easy to afford with TBT. Whereas, with Bells, I find it more restricting--on reddit unorderables were 99k Bells each and I forget what hybrids were going for...

I'm actually curious: is it even allowed to sell hacked flowers (and other items, villagers etc)? I just always assumed it was against the rules, but then wondered where people were getting these large amounts from >.>

The rate has stayed the same for a while to be fair, it's was the same 2 years ago

I never knew 1tbt was worth 200,000igb, it's too bad I'm trying to get more tbt for a username change, or else I'd be very rich in animal crossing. A username change in igb would be 240,000,000, wow.

Changing my username is a huge loss.

Yeah right now I kinda like that tbt exists, because I don't really need things on AC anymore. So now I'm trying to save up and ask for a Pandanoko on Yokai Watch. Hopefully there will be enough to convince someone..

ehh they're alright. back when i first joined which is 20l5 villagers costed a bomb especially for top tier villagers.i remember i once participated in a bid for stitches and the highest bid was 1k TBT. ya ikr. there were a lot of bidding threads and cycling threads. if you wanted to make a profit, simply just buy a second copy and start a cycling town and shop and you'd be rolling millions. but somewhere in 2016 the prices of villagers went down and it was almost impossible to make a profit by cycling anymore mostly due to the dying game community? now with the amiibo update villagers are even more cheaper now. u can even get them for free. back in 2015 free top tier villagers are like the loch ness except low tiers. be thankful you joined after 2015 lol

This is so true. I do not miss the days on the trading forum when top-tier villagers sold for hundreds of TBT or 30 million IGB. Want to pay off your entire home loan – for all four characters in town – or would you rather just have Marshal?

I really like the idea of TBT; I always have plenty of that just from posting! I agree with others that the exchange rate is crazy, though. I don't think I should be able to earn more than a few thousand in-game bells by writing a single sentence, you know? Unfortunately, hacking, duping, and TTing specifically for funds have so inflated the IGB market that for most people, 200k is basically nothing. The thing is, in order to make prices high enough that the amounts will still matter to those who have been millionaires for years, they have to be SO high that they're completely inaccessible to people who are just playing normally. If you wanted to earn the money to buy that 30 mil. Marshal I mentioned earlier, you'd be bug hunting for an hour a day for four or five months straight!

It was very bizarre to watch that tiny microcosm of real-life economy, complete with inflation and devaluing of currency. Everyone said "I'm not getting these villagers because they're popular; I just like them!" but while that was certainly true for some, there was also an undeniable connection between status and collecting the popular villagers. It was seen as a sign of wealth and success within the community. Those were weird times.

The conversion rate is really weird, I agree, but TBT is so easy to get so I really like the system. Nothing is ridiculously pricey and anyone can easily get things that they aren't able to get in game. I think it's convenient for everyone and it's the best currency system I've seen in a long time imo lol
