Hi! I don't exactly know if this fits here but I want to sell some things but I do not know how to price them. For example, the summer recipes and the golden wall diys. And I would like to know how to just price anything in general lol, thanks for reading!

i don’t sell stuff all that often but i’ll just look at threads/shops where the things that i’m looking to sell have been sold and see what prices those items went for and kind of just go from there ^^

I give it for free, the most I did was trading some sakura DIYs for iron when I used to make iron wall lamps lol
Turnips are already enough to make bells to be honest, I just want to chill when playing online and not be a "merchant".

I don’t charge for diys typically. If it’s a rare diy I might trade diy for diy. I try giving things for free all the time and a lot of people don’t want to hear that.

I’ve noticed that prices vary from person to person, so it depends on what currency you want bells, nmt, wishlist items or tbt. I’ve even seen people post “make me an offer”. Either way you can always change it later.

I typically let the person buying decide how much they are prepared to offer.

I usually just let people make offers because to be honest I can never put a price on things either so I just ask for them to make an offer they think is fair.

I let it depend a bit on what I 'need'. A lot of my stuff is given away for free, because it's in the way and I feel less guilty accepting other free things from people here. :D I'm in a 'luxury' position of having enough bells and nook miles in the game to not really need more, anyways.

I've also traded DIYS for wishlist items or catalog trades, either setting up my own trading post or looking at those of others. Looking for other people that are looking for the specific DIYs (or any kind of item, really) I have is fun, especially if I know I can give them away for free. If I take IGB or NMT, I usually take 10-20K IGB or 1 NMT for a DIY. I personally would never offer things like 20 tbt for a single DIY, but I've seen people ask that much and get it. The most expensive DIYs I 'bought' were (I think) 1 bag of 99K IGB, 2 NMT or 5TBT, and I only bought those because I really, really wanted them.

I really don't mind 'buying' things, as long as I know what I'm supposed to offer. If you have a bridge to built and want me to donate to that, or want wishlist items, or are looking for igb, tbt or nmt, that's all fine with me, as long as I know in what direction I should make my offer. I think the most important thing is to make up your mind beforehand on an absolute minimum you want, and if there is one, disclose it. That way people will know what you're looking for, and can make offers accordingly.

Nowadays, people aren't buying them much. I even set my price to a flat rate of one Nook Miles ticket and no one is biting. Other than the rare ones such as wreaths and crowns, they hardly worth anything.

I rarely price items when I sell them! I usually let people know what I'm looking for (TBT, NMT, etc) and then let them make me an offer. Sometimes I'll look at the prices on Nookazon beforehand or on other threads to make sure if it's a rare DIY/item. You can also search for the prices people have sold things for here on the forum. I find that helpful too, even as a buyer!
