How do I search for a new villager

So my ultimate Favorite villager Penelope left. It’s been two days and nobody came so I thought I could use a nook miles ticket to go find someone I’ve gone to two different islands and no one’s been there, Amin doing something wrong? I am new to this and she’s my first villager that left

From what I know, if you don't have available plots on your island, villagers won't show up when you visit mystery islands. If all plots are occupied, the only way would be to wait for someone to visit the campsite and invite them to live on your island (the villager will choose a random resident to take their place) or to wait for a resident to move out

You have to wait until you have an open plot. Usually villagers ask to move every two weeks, roughly. When one of your plots are vacant, then you can go hunting with NMTs!

Or if you have amiibo cards you can invite villagers to your campsite and after 3 days let them stay on your island and kick one of your current villagers out

Yeah, unfortunately you are only guaranteed one day of the plot being open. After that it can be left open for longer or sold to either a random villager or someone from the void. What is the name of the villager on the plot? (Walk up to the plot sign and press a, in case you haven’t done it before)
