How do I make sure my villager gets into boxes and is not voided?

Hi, Erik says he's moving on the 6th of the month. ( I'm in April.) I want to get him into boxes for my friend to come get him. Can I tt to the 6th and he will be in boxes or do I tt to the 5th? I don't want to void him by mistake. Thank you

You can TT to the 6th and he will be in boxes. Whatever date villagers give you is the date they're in boxes.

I remember one time I did that and they came up to me on the day they claimed they'd be in boxes and said, "I actually am going to stay after all!" or something along those lines.

The worst that can happen is that they choose to stay. I don't think they'll be voided unless you TT to the day they actually leave your town, but I may be wrong.

if they say that, close your game w/o saving and reload it again until they say they are leaving. (may take multiple tries)
