How do I maintain originality with my villagers?

I hate them changing their clothes and houses, but i have no idea how to prevent it! I havent changed the able sisters crap designs and some of them are walking around in the dumb chic tank. I have the intention of giving away my villagers, so I want to make sure they're original for everyone else who gets them.

Change the able sister's designs to something they can't wear, like hats, umbrellas or dresses. Then fill your retail with shells, or your furniture and don't let them buy any of it.

If they ask for a different greeting, say no and if they ask for a different catchphrase, say no or make it their original one. You can refuse to buy any furniture they ask to sell you, but they might gift it to you for free anyway, so maybe don't talk to them at all.

You can't always keep them original, so I'd just try to give them away asap if that's what you're planning to do.

This is actually a difficult task. You can try & try but you just can't control everything. Gifting them their original shirt doesn't even make them wear it most of the time they will display it in their houses and then after that you have to gift them the furniture next. It's an endless process, it's hard to keep up. I myself don't try to keep them original but I watch what they do to their houses. If you're planning to give them away, just do it sooner I guess.

If you still want to be able to be friends with them, I've been told saying no doesn't hurt much of your relationship as long as you still talk to them, send letters, and do their request occasionally. One's that they cannot wear or display in their house (fruits, wallpaper, flooring)

Heads up though, they will always find a way to buy new furniture or interact with villagers and copy their clothes.

keep note of the furniture that is original in their house, deny requests for furniture, send them their default shirt over and over again until they put it back on, and don't let them change their catch phrase or change it back to it's original catch phrase and greeting before you give them away.

I have my town and villagers for over a year and they're still wearing their default shirts and still have original furniture. Basically, all original except for Wolf Link's catchphrase which I've reported to Isabelle so he changed it 'uh-huh'. I'm waiting for his ping so I could get his original catchphrase back again. But yeah as I've said, I've been keeping them all original. The good thing is that I'm still able to maintain high friendship level with them. I don't know, maybe because for several months, I used to play my game daily so eventually I was able to raise the friendship. I talk with them like usual except that I only do signature, visiting houses, fruit requests. I'd say yes to bugs/fishes but never actually do them lol. I never give them clothes or items that they could display so delivery requests are also a no no. I only give wallpapers, dressers and those kind of stuff on their birthdays. Obviously, I say no or 'they're fine' when they ping me about greetings and catchphrases. One important thing is that don't leave your game idle for a long time. If you're landscaping, leave your gate open so villagers won't interact with each other (hence, less chance to change clothing/catchphrase) and to be safe, save and continue/quit often when you've done enough.

I had trouble with Julia before she accidentally changed her default clothing to June's outfit (I think). I left the game idle so that's my fault lol. What I did was sent her the original before 5 pm, reset until she changed back. She did, but in exchange, she had displayed the previous/June's clothing inside her house on the spot where the coat hanger (original furniture) was, but luckily she gave the item to me later on. So I sent it the next day before 5 pm, reset until she displayed it on the exact spot where June's clothing was, so yeah in the end, I got her interior back to default. Don't just randomly send them stuff. That'll mess up their homes.

ugh....my problem is the villagers exchange shirts with each other AND i have 4 villagers wearing the same shirt the raglan tee...
like..WHAT THE HECK !!!! are they trying to build an animal band or something....geezz...lol...

and now i bought their original shirt and carrying them around and waiting for them to ask me to change shirt or buy them a shirt....

Four of my villagers are wearing this raglan tee....can you imagine Apple wearing this shirt...i should take a picture of her and show you but it's too painful....hurts my eye just looking at it....

Try to send each one their original shirt before 5 pm (before the second mail for the day comes). Save and quit. Once it's over 5 pm, load your town then check if they're finally wearing their respective original shirts. If not, quit to home menu. Don't save then go back to your game again then check.

It's easier if you send the shirt to villager one by one though, in 4 successive days (each before 5 pm then checking after) so you'll only worry about one villager while resetting until he/she wears the shirt instead of four villagers at the same time, like for example, when two of your villagers changed to original but the other two didn't.

LOL I?m laughing because my villagers exchange shirts with each other but the opposite. The peppy & normal?s keep sharing shirts with animals, but they wear cute colorful tees that don?t match everyone. I?ve actually been waiting to get that Raglan tee to give to Keaton (his default)

Sometimes I get lucky & they happen to exchange tees that look better on them than their original. Pippy & Gwen?s default tees don?t match them imo.

Idk how some of y?all manage to keep their default tees for so long.... they are bound to talk to each other & share shirts no matter what!
