I see so many varied town names around here... So, tell me, how did your town get its name?

I have 2 towns, Crazy and Insanity. Crazy was named first because when Rover asked where I was going, I thought about how my kids used to ask where we were going all the time, and my usual reply was "crazy." So, that's that.

After playing the game for a while now I wanted a second town. I wanted the name to stay on the same theme. Visiting other people's towns and seeing the welcome messages, I decided I wanted mine to say "Welcome to Insanity."

Care to share your story?

My town has the name of Avalon. It is my default name for a location.
It is where all of Oberon's Children/The Third Race/fae live.
I'm not very creative, and it has a special meaning because of stuff back to when I was younger. I just always use it :)

Creenaye.
I literally just made a noise out of my mouth and tried to make a spelling for it, and Creenaye was the result.

I'm just a big Mario fan, and Galaxy 2 is one of my favourite Mario games. I think the Lumas in Galaxy 1 and 2 are just adorable, so I named my town Lumatown. I also didn't want to name it something completely and utterly unoriginal, like 'mytown' (my GC town and first WW town) or after a real place, like I did with my first CF town.

Paradise is named after my favorite cult musical from the seventies, Phantom of the Paradise. Cocoplum is a plant and I simply loved the name!

galifrey because doctor who is my life. i'm still upset about the character limit; it should be gallifrey.

I named my town Lynna because my first ever Zelda game was Oracle of Ages and I feel really nostalgic about it. I also wanted a Zelda-themed town that wasn't as blatantly named as "Hyrule", lol. I think Lynna's a little subtler and less obvious a tribute to the Zelda series.

Unicoira: Unicorn on it's own sounded dumb. At the time I was reading a book called White as Snow by Tanith Lee, it's a dark take on the Snow White story. The main character was a girl named Coira. Combined Unicorn and Coira to make a word, and tbh I think it still sounds dumb, but whatever.

Starfall: Starfall is a place in A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones

Dairanto was chosen as my name because it's the closest I can get to a Romanized version of the Japanese name for the Super Smash Bros series I.E. Dairanto Smash Bros. I think it means "great melee" or something.

Ninfea means 'water lily' in Italian, which is my favorite kind of flower. Then I switched the last two letters because it sounded nice to me lol

My first town I wanted to make a pokemon-inspired town, with my mayor being the town gym leader. There's a pokemon gym and a pokemon center in the upstairs museum, all my villagers call me "leader", my other town residents are (soon to be) dressed in pokemon trainer QR outfits, the town theme is the pokemon theme song...etc, etc. So, I wanted the town's name to sound like something an actual town would be named in the Pokemon universe, so I came up with Noveon.

Luneta was obviously inspired by the moon, so it's a moon-themed town with each of the other residents representing a different type of moon (blue moon, red moon, honey moon).

And Pyrena is going to be my fall-themed town. The name is a little morbid since a pyre is something you burn a dead body on, but I chose it because it seemed to fit the theme of fall/dying things.

I named my town "Beyond" after a song called "Land of Beyond" which has sentimental value to me. c:

Balamb because I was frustrated by the character limit and the fact that I couldn't name my town Daguerreo, and it was the first usable name that popped into my head.

Bunifrey came about, thanks to my awesome fianc? and is a mashup of Bun Bun and Gallifrey, because I'm a big Whovian and the town was made in honor of our rabbit, Princess Bun Bun McCloud. So this town is kind of my baby. <3

Well, I had recently restarted my town. I usually make town names on the spot, like I usually think of some random word... for instance, my old town had been named Cayon - I had thought of the word canyon. So I used that name.
But I was at loss for names when Rover had asked me what the town's name was, and at that moment I was currently listening to a song called "One of Repetition" sung by a Youtuber called Nami. I'm a really big fan of her and her singing, and so I went along with her name - Nami.

And that is how I got the name.

Tadfield is from my favorite book, Good Omens. (My mayor is named after my fave character) The place is actually called Lower Tadfield but obviously that wouldn't have fit.

My town is a summer island get away theme and the hibiscus bushes are my favorite ones in acnl so thats why I named my town Hibiscus >< not really creative but oh well. I have a bunch of them in my town and its my town flag <3

hahahha thats so spontaneous and simple way to name a town!

Paradise is named after my favorite cult musical from the seventies, Phantom of the Paradise. Cocoplum is a plant and I simply loved the name!

cocoplum, what a nice name.

I picked the prefix May- and looked for a suffix. -glade worked well.

oh wow, it is a good name. My bday is in may, why didnt i think of that ^^

Pandora , because i like borderlands

lol my guy friends really love that game. I dont play but the dialogues in the game are pretty hilarious.

ive seen soooo many hyrule as town name >< I didnt know it was from Zelda at first because I dont play too many games!

Unicoira: Unicorn on it's own sounded dumb. At the time I was reading a book called White as Snow by Tanith Lee, it's a dark take on the Snow White story. The main character was a girl named Coira. Combined Unicorn and Coira to make a word, and tbh I think it still sounds dumb, but whatever.

hehehe I think unicora would make a unique name! sounds pretty too

Starfall: Starfall is a place in A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones

Ninfea means 'water lily' in Italian, which is my favorite kind of flower. Then I switched the last two letters because it sounded nice to me lol
