How did you get back into playing after losing interest?

i got bored of the game once and didnt play for like 2 weeks. what got me back was after getting marshal, who is my ultimate dream villager at that time.

I had lost interest after a few months of playing, but when my friend showed me the forum it became a new level of addiction @.@
For me, it's getting the town just right

Taking a 6 month break helped me tbh. I'm sorry about what you're going through with missing your first map and all. I think if you play your new map enough, it may start to have that feel of home, I guess you could say, again. I've seen some people say when they take their town really seriously, like focusing on completing everything, getting their dreamies, and landscaping everything, it gets tedious for them and it doesn't feel as fun anymore. Maybe just try to play it casually for a while? Your town will form as you make play it so hopefully it'll be how you like it again.

Oh yeah I've had the same experience with my animal crossing wild world game file! I restarted because I didn't like my name anymore, it was such a silly mistake. I actually stopped playing for at least 4-6 years maybe even more, 7 years? yeah something like that it seemed really long and then after that I ended up buying the animal crossing new leaf game and now I've been playing a lot. I think the giant break made me slowly forget about my sad mistake on my previous animal corssing game, that with my main game I just went with it and haven't restarted yet, hopefully I don't have too other wise I'd have the same experience or another long break again! But aside from that I would like to start a second animal crossing new leaf game file on a separate hard copy SD card just to try nee and different things on it ahahah

I stopped playing for almost a year, and when I wanted to get back into it I made a town that was the complete opposite of what I looked for originally (so I had the challenge of making it work). I also started the town as one of those 'One Year Challenges' which added a bit of incentive to keep playing and adhere to rules. And finally -and by far the biggest calling back to the game for me- was I started blogging bits and pieces about my towns day to day running. That got me attached to my town pretty quickly. I stopped playing it back in July though when my life got busier and I imported HHD which ate my free time. But I'm going to have a chunk of free time over xmas, so I'm intending on getting back to it then, and probably binge playing over xmas. :P

I'd say.. play for fun and don't put too much into this all dream villager and plot reset stuff (from what I've seen people put too much into this)... If you like to landscape - do that, if you like to design - do that etc. But don't do it like, competitively or too much. I mean sure if that certain villager you like crashes down in the wrong place - just redecorate or let them be to be honest.

Also upgrade in your own pace.

The feeling comes and goes for me. I was playing nonstop for my two week Thanksgiving break. Now I'm all played out, and have no interest. Usually, when this happens, I go a month or two without playing. Then I start craving again. I get addicted until I get sick of it. It's a never-ending loop for me.

I'm at the not playing point right now, as of 2 days ago. I kind of hope the craving comes back soon. I was doing very well with my towns, and don't want them to get screwed up. But I know that if I play while uninterested, it will make the game feel like torture and nothing will get done. Games are meant to be fun.

Fortunately i've never lost interest and usually when I start to lose abit of interest, it isn't for too long only for a couple of weeks. Mainly because I have my dreamies living in my town so I can never abandon it for too long.

I think I'm kund of losing interest atm... or I mean.... I just don't have the energy to play. I think I just have to push myself to do it, until I feel better I'll just vhill and then I'll pick it up again when it doesn't stress me out to think about it...

I played from 2013 to 2014. But I got preoccupied with so much other things, plus Xbox one video games.

A month ago I thought to myself..wow..I would love a chill relaxing game just to unwind from my day and that wouldn't make me rage and get irritated like first person shooters do, Lol.

So I picked it up again, and bam, in love, addicted again.

I came up with a theme and restarted my town. I didn't really have a theme in mind last time and kind of just threw all my npcs on the ground as soon as I could which had me losing interest because I couldn't really decorate around that. I'm much more excited for this town, however. We'll see how long this one lasts. xD
