How Close Can Houses Be?

Sooo, recently I got a dreamie from my campsite, and I'm planning on Plot reseting her house, I would like to put her house close to freya's since its in a pretty good spot so i'd like to know - How close can 2 Houses be?

I believe its 1 to 2 spaces at most

Mint and Boone have a two-tile path between their houses, so I know they can at least be that close.
