Hello, sorry if this isn't where i post this. I'm trying to figure out this website but i am kinda struggling lol. Please don't yell at mee

Anyway, i got AC New leaf for christmas yesterday and i'm starting my town today. Any tips for an animal crossing noob? And how do i add people? This little game is more complicated than i expected!!

I hope i am welcomed to this website because its really cute and seems friendly!!

Thanks!!! :) <3

I recommend trying out club tortimer, it's nice to play with people on the continental island

Welcome to TBT! If you want to introduce yourself, feel free to add a thread in the Introduction Board!

First thing I would do is buy everything in the shops (Timmy and Tommy, Able Sisters) on main street so you can upgrade your shops. Then, I would recommend talking to Sable in the Able Sister's shop so you can unlock the QR code machine. Then, you can place pathways in your town, and you can get cute outfits for your character!

You can catch bugs and fish, and collect fossils to donate to your museum and fill your encylcopedia.

Write to your villagers, and complete requests to build up your catalogue with gifts, and your friendship levels with the villagers.

Upgrade your rooms and buy and sell from the shops so that they upgrade and unlock other shops.

Unlock Public Works Projects when you have 100 Mayor points.

Landscape your town.

Go to the island and gather plants and fruit to use in your town. Aim for a perfect town. (The island also has exclusive fish, sea creatures, and bugs to catch.)

Do the island tours to gain medals to buy exclusive island items.

If you have the slingshot, start shooting down balloons.

Do the daily tasks for MEOW coupons to spend in Harvey's Camping Ground.

I hope this helps. ^_^

Hello and welcome!

Here are a few tips for the earliest part of the game:

- Talk to Isabelle in town hall and do all of her requests. She'll get you started with some tools and non-native fruit.

- You'll want a shovel to dug up fossils and hit rocks, a net to catch bugs, a fishing rod to catch fish, and a watering can to water flowers.

- For money, you can shake trees, hit rocks, and sell fruit and seashells until you unlock the island.

- Plant the non-native fruit from Isabelle and the perfect fruit that you will find on one of the trees in your town. You only get one perfect fruit so use it wisely.

Welcome to TBT! I also really recommend to talk to Sable at the Able Sisters shop everyday to unlock the QR code machine, it's really helpful to customise your character and your town :)

You will start the game with 1 fruit that looks different from the others in your town. I would recommend saving it, or planting it where a house wouldn't fit.

Happy New Year !!! Welcome to TBT

Everyone here has given you some great information to get you started so far, I would just like to add to it a bit by suggesting the things I wish I knew before I booted up my Animal Crossing New Leaf game for the first time.
First I wish I knew that there was a site which has guides for everything related to ACNL, here is the link to the Starting The Game page on >>>Thonky<<<, which is a great place to start.

Next thing I wish I knew was that I could reset the game before that first game save, this is important to some, so I thought I should mention it here.
I would have liked to have checked for these 3 things before committing to my new town.

1) Native Fruit - Each time you start a new game file as Mayor it loads a different native fruit, their are 5 in total,
apples, pears, peaches, cherries, and oranges.
This is important because perfect fruit can only grow from your native fruit tree, also it is just nice to be able to choose your favorite fruit to begin with, since you will be spending alot of time in this town.

2) Color Scheme - Each time you start a new game file as Mayor it loads a different color Town Hall and Train Station.
There are four different possible color schemes the town hall can have by default; First, a mostly brown exterior with a regular brown interior. Second, a yellow exterior with a green door, and a light brown interior. Third, a dark brown exterior with dark blue doors and windows, and a dark brown interior. Lastly, a brown exterior with green windows. The interior of this town hall is rather interesting, as, while the floors and walls are still brown, the desks are green.
The default train station is wooden. The majority of the structure used brown wood, although it is trimmed with wood of another color - either brown, red, green, or blue.

3) Villagers - Each time you start a new game file as Mayor it loads different villagers, I think you either get 5 or 6 to begin with, and this is the one I really wish I knew then as this is when you have a chance to pick some villagers you really like.
This site here >>>Animal Crossing Wiki<<< is a good place to check out all the villagers and get info on them.

Most of all just have fun, and Welcome to the Animal Crossing World !!! :p I hope this info helps you a little if you haven't saved your town yet.

If you dont like a villager and want them out of your town just ignore them for a while and then they should move out one way or another
