Trading Help!(prefix has nothing to do with this, i think)

I just let someone hold my items when I restarted my town, and when I tried to come back, their gates were closed- but when I messaged them, they just replied with "Thanks for the stuff!"
I lost everything, including my golden tools, 8 million bells, JULIAN, MARSHAL, STITCHES(actually i got stitches back in my new town, yaaay!), and the princess and cafe sets! What do I do? Should I just ask someone for them, should I get the 8 million bells back by just earning it the hard way, or do I just give up and start anew?

I don't know what you can do about this. If it was someone on here, they can get banned, but I'm not sure how you can get your stuff back. ;.;

they had around a 25% wifi rating i think(it was stupid of me to trust them ugh), and i cant find them in my messages for some reason??? im not lying, this is really weird. they may have been banned already actually

*edit* they apparently were banned, there's no other explanation for this.
