help! plot resetting?

I can't seem to figure out how it works. I have a villager moving in on the 17th so I set it to the 16th at 6:55am and waited and it didn't work! what am I doing wrong?

The animal crossing day starts at 6am. I don’t plot reset this way - I change my DS clock and start a new character. I believe you would want to set your clock to 5:55 am on the 17th if they’re due on that day.
