How did you even get it in there? Did you have to push harder than normal to get it in? Did it make any strange noises upon putting it in? Is it a digital or physical copy???

OP said it was a Physical Copy.

The worst thing that can happen is that you lose your screenshots and your HH Showcase data... Your town isn't in danger since you have a physical copy. ^^

if you have a digital copy, i'm not going to sugar coat it. it is corrupted. honestly if you call nintendo and tell them what happened, they won't care. it wasn't their problem. good luck.

I did this with my laptop just last week (that's what I get for trying to transfer images in the dark). Don't panic, first and foremost.

Do you have any needlenose pliers? I have some handy for my jewelry making and that got it back out lickety split, chances are someone you know has a pair. What I'm a little surprised by is, it won't go in that way unless you really force it. Is that what happened here?

Just take the pliers and try and grab it by the corners - don't try and grab it at the top, that could just wedge it down in there even more and risk damaging the data.
