My 3ds keeps pressing down the left button on the dpad, and I couldn't equip my tools nor rotate rooms because of that. Most of all, I couldn't play desert island escape. Not big of a problem but it's still problematic.

Info:
-When I place it down in a flat place/table while charging, it sometimes lets the left button go for a short while.
-This happened when I left my Pokemon ORAS alone overnight for the first time. When I left my 3ds for a month, it was cured, but not long after I accidentally let it fall down, and it happened again.
-This affects the rest of my 3ds system as well other than my acnl.
-I just have to close the screen then open back again to change equipment or rotate rooms.

Please ask me for more information.

Does it stick? Like if you press it down it just stays there? Or is it like pressing it down and even though the button pops back up, it still thinks you're holding it down?

If it's the former, you could try to just press it a bunch of times and kinda wear whatever is making it stick off of there.

If it's the latter, you should try to send it in for repairs. I don't know if your 3DS has a warranty on it or not, but it shouldn't cost too much to get it fixed.

If I'm not describing your situation here please explain it in more detail! :)

You can go to the link here on Nintendo's website, they'll explain how you can send in a console for repairs ---> [x]

If ya need anymore help just hmu

It looks like they don't do repairs for original 3DS anymore. Do you have a newer one?

If you live in the UK you may need to go to their UK website just to check.

Ahhh okay. Lemme see here...

Well it doesn't seem like Nintendo services products from the Philippines. You could search the internet for different ways to get it repaired. Unfortunately unless I could person ally take a look at it I'd say your best bet is to just find someone in your area who does 3DS repairs.

I think if you do a web search and look up "3ds repair philippines" it should yield some good results.

Good luck!

Not old enough to ask for repair, but hopefully it won't be too bad for me if newer games come out!

I'll just leave my 3ds out for a month once I get all of my dreamies.

Oh, okay! Sorry ya gotta deal with that though. That would bug me so bad if my d-pad got stuck all the time.

Good news! I went on a little experiment. I noticed that the small symptom of charging my 3ds in a horizontal position is effective to prevent from it happening.
So I turned my 3ds off, open the screen overnight, charged it, and let it stay in the said position. I checked this morning and the lefty presses are gone! I can now play normally! :)

It could be that there is something inside of the system that is making the button stick. Though I wouldn't advise taking it apart to clean it; the DSi and 3DS have very small and fragile wires and ribbon cables, and removing them to take the system apart can permanently damage the system (that's what happened with my old DSiXL, RIP).

Glad you found a solution though! Hopefully it's not too much of a hassle to have to do that every time you charge it or set it down for a while. :)
