So a while back someone I hated moved into a place that I had been saving for a pwp. I talked to him once and then ignored him. After tting and playing every day for about two weeks he still hadn't moved out! I got pinged by about 3 other villagers during those two weeks but never by the one I wanted to move out. I decided to tt two days and hope that did it. It didn't. So I skipped an entire week, still nothing. So then I was starting to think there was a problem so I skipped a month. No dice. Same with skipping to december. Now I figured there must be something wrong. I skipped two years. TWO WHOLE YEARS. And still nothing. Not a single person has moved and no one is in boxes.

What the heck is going on here?

Also sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm still a bit of a newbie at this game.

That similar scenario happened to me on a "potential cycle town" i was working on.. It was weiiiiird.

I did the same thing you did.. Skipped a few days... weeks.. months,... then a year.. and was so fed-up.

What worked for me- eventually- was talking to the townies/villagers: and skipping by 2-3 days at a time.. while continually talking to a few.

Eventually- I got some action (:

Good luck to you though!!

Thanks. Yeah I've gone back to the date I was at originally. Hopefully soon he will move. Good to know that eventually people will move. I was kind of worried it was some strange glitch and I was going to have to start a new town. D:

Is this villager your tenth villager? If so, tenth villagers are unable to move from your town. The last person who moved in never pings.
So if this villagers was the last one to move in, you need to move another villager into town before they will start asking to leave.

Hope that helps! Remember to talk to villagers between TTing and check for pings while you're doing it :3

I had a dry period of about three weeks before (realtime). It ended eventually, but it was strange while it went on - I was getting more and more paranoid with every day that passed, because someone surely had to be moving behind my back!

This may or may not be entirely true. Some people never have a tenth villager move and others have, but said that it doesn't happen often. So I don't know what has been verified for certain.

The key seems to be to talk to the villagers a few times. You have to make at least initial contact, and then, as Dewy says, TT two or three days. Someone usually pings then. That works for me pretty well.

He was the last person to move in but I only have 9 at the moment and no one has shown up at the camp site in nearly 3 weeks for some reason. Hopefully someone gets here soon so I can get Ribbot out of here.

The campsite seems sort of random. I've had weeks with nobody on my campsite.

If you have any events coming up on that week, nobody will move out or request you to move out. Also, the "ignore villagers" thing may or may not work. It seems to be random which villager decides to move out, some people swear by ignoring them while other people say they've gotten pinged more often by villagers they've befriended. In my own experience, the villagers I ignore ask me less often to go.

Have you been TTing forward after denying someone's request to move out? If you say no, then TT on that very day, nobody will move in the time gap.

The way I get rid of villagers is pretty simple. I ask a villager to stay. Then I find a week with no events on it and TT to the beginning of that week. I save the game and quit. Then I use the 3DS calendar to TT one year ahead, start as a new character, and check if anyone is gone from the map Porter gives me. If so, I quit without saving, set the calendar back by one year again, load as my mayor and go find that character. If they don't ping me immediately I talk to them a few times, save and quit and load again, until they do ping me or say they're moving out. Then I save and quit, set the calendar ahead by one year, load as my mayor, save and quit, skip another year, use a new character to check the map, quit without saving, skip back by a year, use the mayor to talk to the missing villager, and so on. This tends to work well for me. I've had some villagers ping me multiple times that way and one of my villagers has never pinged me when I've used that method, but with some time and patience the one you want to get rid of will eventually ping. I find it easier than skipping random weeks ahead since that means I won't have to worry about events preventing them from pinging me.

Oh, and your 10th villager can move out eventually. I don't know if you need to have moved in someone else before then or be down to 9, but a villager who was my 10th a while ago asked me to move out (I said no but she did ping me to ask, so it's possible).

Well I'm currently moving Drago out, not the problem villager but his house was also in a less then ideal spot. So Then I'll be down to 7 and someone new is sure to move in. Hopefully that will help the problem!

Even if someone moves in (so you're at 8 villagers) nobody will move out. Villagers only move out if you have at least 9 villagers.
