So I have a thing for decorating villagers houses and right now a big focus of mine is Chief's house because let's face it.... His original house is disgusting. XD My town is Autumn themed so I wanted most of the houses to reflect a cozy and warm vibe so Chief's house I decided to make into a cozy little cabin.

Problem is I really don't like the table I originally chose. The clothing pattern I used for all the other furniture just looks kind of silly on the table and sadly you can't have the table with no pattern. So does anyone think they can help me pick out another large table or perhaps know of a piece of clothing that would still match the rest of the house? I am pretty stumped with it.

Here's a picture. :3

Also it must be a large table or he won't replace it I've tried to replace with other furniture many times and he won't budge so pretty sure it's impossible. XD

Thank you! <3

Maybe a large Alpine table customized with natural wood and the same sweater you're already using? (The sweater itself might not be the problem; it just seems the pattern gets cut off awkwardly when on the cabin table.) Or the patchwork table with the 'warm color' customization?

Maybe you could design a cloth for a large alpine table

The Large Alpine is definitely on my list to try! :) I just do not want to take up design slots to customize pieces since there are so few design slots given. I was also pretty stumped on what shirt pattern to try with it.

What about a refurb ranch table? It'd still tie in with your theme.

This one I actually haven't considered yet :o That may work I'll have to try it when I can get a ranch table because I'm not sure if I have it cataloged yet. Thank you! ^_^

That's actually a really smart idea. That's why I didn't like it was the weird way it gets displayed on the cabin table. I just hope it won't be too much of the same pattern(I also have the cabin bed on the other side of the table with the same pattern). XD Refurbishing patchwork may be cute as well, I just have tried to avoid that since I'm currently using some pieces of the set in two other villager homes and also may use it in my mayor's home as well. But if it ends up looking great then oh well. X3

I'm gonna try some of these out that I can and report back with pictures if Chief isn't stubborn. XD

Looking forward to seeing the results :) I just checked to see if I had a ranch table to give you but I don't. Hopefully you'll be able to find one!

Aw that's okay thanks for looking anyway! <3 Hopefully I'll be able to get it to try it out :)

Here's some pictures!

I like the table the best itself but hate the cloth on top and think it just looks off. If I could find another clothing pattern that looked better I'd more than likely keep it but as it is it's not staying. XD

And here's some testers...
image.jpg
Probably my favorite so far, the pattern still looks a little strange but not nearly as bad as it did before and overall I like it a lot but may be too much of one design. Idk XD

Not really sure it matches too well, it's lacking brown to blend it with the other furniture.

Any thoughts or more ideas? I've been thinking of maybe trying a sloppy table. XD

I like the first one the most! I see what you're saying about it looking "off" but I don't think it looks bad :> also, really great design and theme!!! The birch wood is so cute! :>

Also, like mayortash suggested, try the ranch table! Then it can be white like the rest of the cabin pieces but with a customized top :>

is it possible for you to get a lazy-susan table? or does that not fit with the cabin vibe?

Thank you! I really do like the birch table as well, I'm looking for other possible clothing designs that might match and not look so awkward. It's a shame you can't leave it without a cloth top. :(

I want to try the ranch one so bad but just have to get the table first. XD

I'm not sure if he will display it even though technically it is a table because it can't have furniture on top I'm not sure if it will count as one. :( I sent him like 5 Papa Bears and had him buy them off me personally as well to test if it has to be a table and he never displayed the Papa Bear so I would assume you have to be able to set stuff on top for him to put the item in that spot sadly. =\

aw, sorry! :( in that case, i suggest you use the alpine table or ranch table! i don't like the patchwork one personally, just because i think the patchwork furniture is ugly.

i actually really like the way the patchwork table looks; i think the colors blend really nicely with the maple bonsai, the fireplace, and even the orangeish/brownish splash of color from the sweater you used on the cabin furniture kinda ties in with it! o:

i think maybe the reason it looks so out of place is just because everything in the room is pretty much cabin furniture, but if you were to, say, replace the chair on the left with a patchwork chair (and put a patchwork lamp next to it, since i'm pretty sure there's a free space right there) it might look a bit more cohesive, yeah? ^_^

also you said you wanted a warm and cozy vibe,
which i think the patchwork furniture gives off really well! c:

it's fine if you like the patchwork table! i was just stating my personal preference, that's all.
if chief gets a patchwork table, that's totally okay! i'm sorry, i didn't want anyone to think i was against it ^^'

I know this is maybe a dumb question, but have you tried turning the refurb cabin table so that the sweater pattern goes horizontally? The more the look at your original pic, the more I feel it's the vertical positioning of the sweater pattern that looks the most awkward to me. The table itself does look really nice with the maple bonsai on it.

I don't think anyone was mad or thought you were against it, just happened two people happened to like it after you, no worries <3 I'm not really a fan of the Patchwork table in Chief's house either haha, however it may look a lot better if I use it with another piece of the Patchwork series as well to make it blend better like someone mentioned above! Which I may try out with the lamp just to see before I totally throw out the Patchwork table idea. X3

I like the look of the alpine table customized. The patchwork just doesn't look right to me.

Alpine is my favorite as well. <3

Haha yep it is definitely sideways! That's just how Chief has his table so any table he puts will be turned to the left. XD I can't change it sadly =(

Nope! I don't hack. XD He can only replace his table with another table, nothing else.

Interesting! I've always found that villagers have a couple pieces of furniture that they will never replace. I could never get Chief to replace his table with a different one! Maybe our friendship wasn't high enough or something.
