HELP! Issue with saving?

I have three copies of New Leaf. One digital and two physical copies (well, one is actually my girlfriend's game), but something strange is happening. Sometimes when I save, it won't end. It won't complete at all. It'll keep going for several minutes. The only solution that I found is switching the WiFi switch off (without the gate open), but I don't understand why this is happening. I'm too afraid of my files getting corrupted. This has happened on all three copies. My 3DS is in such good condition. I've never even scratched the thing or dropped it, so this doesn't make any sense... Has this ever happened to you? What can I do to fix this? I'm getting pretty paranoid and scared about turning on my game and losing everything. ​

This is a normal thing. It happened to a couple of other people on this forum. Since it's normal, I don't know how to slow it down. Everything should remain intact.

Only when visiting someone, it'll load and load and load and load and load and load and load and resetti.

Try again and it goes without problems. Perhaps the Nintendo network is busy?

I doubt it's the Nintendo Network, because I haven't been playing on WiFi when this occurs. It happens when I'm playing single player and with the gates closed. I'm not sure what to do. Also, my game will not save unless I switch off the wireless. It's strange since I'm OFFLINE. If I power off, it doesn't save at all and Resetti yells at me.​

i had that happen to my game before where when i was trying to save and quit it took forever. my DS was maybe only a month old...same with my game. i read that you have to turn off your DS completely. while the DS off, take the game and SD card out for like 30mins. after 30mins, put it back in and try to see what happens. it worked for me, so i hope this works for you too.

Oh John, this happened to me just yesterday, actually. It would just keep saving and it wouldn't stop. I just let it do its thing and it eventually finished after about 5-10 mins because I was scared of doing anything to corrupt my game. I did read that flicking off the wifi switch will help it finish though after I googled it. But otherwise, I'd rather just let it finish by itself.

I've only had this happen a few times, but I just let it go and it does stop after several minutes. I've never shut down my DS completely and everything has been fine. I think the network is just busy sometimes.

I only had this happen once. I was in the middle of a trade with somebody at their town and someone new came into the town. During the whole saving session it was probably literally saving for about 5 minutes until it finally stopped. I didn't flick any switches because 1) it was in the middle of a trade and 2) I didn't want to risk losing stuff.

Try to be patient and wait several minutes if you can. I've put tons of hours into NL and other than that one time, saving is always quick.

This has happened to me once or twice. Both times I just left the 3ds on and it did eventually stop! Just be patient... it's safer than losing your file due to turning off while saving, which is very very dangerous in any game.
