Help! I'm getting no results from diving trick =/

I've been doing the diving trick for a couple of hours now and i've gotten absolutely zero pwp suggestions. I mean flat out zero nothing...all i've gotten is like 10 pings all asking to change a stupid catchphrase or a greeting. Am I doing something wrong or is just more luck based than I thought?

I'm really getting unmotivated (if that's even a word) to keep doing this because i'm getting no results. If anyone can give me some tips on what I could be doing wrong I would really appreciate it. I've trapped one villager so they can't move, then I go as far as I can in the water until I hit that barrier thing, then I wait for 5-6 minutes and then come back to that villager. It seems every other time I attempt I get no ping but then the next time I always get a ping. Is it supposed to be in a pattern like that I thought it was more random? Help! =/

You can just hit "save and quit" then reload the game. If you start the game again, there will be another villager who pings you.

Yeah, I've actually gotten quite a few pings from doing this, at least three.

I've noticed that the closer I am with someone, the more likely they are to ping me for a project

What you do is absolutely right and nothing wrong but they re random, mhmm. And perhaps you doesn't have the luck for the day so since you cant get it I would suggest go in and out. Sometimes everyday all the sudden, they will ping me for 1. Each day I got a new. Sometimes not 1 in a week. Cause I am lazy to do diving trick so I just go with the flow~ I think friendship with them is also important =)

Agree~ when I have max friendship with Rizzo, he suggested 1 to me EVERYDAY! Until now I already have all from cranky, and then to Bunnie, she and Molly was the one currently keep suggesting me~ and Paula (high friendship too) also suggested 1 before she leave~ so yea friendship with them is important =)

Random as well but more likely will get a ping that way. Also after doing alot diving trick and nothing suggest, go enter and exit a building which will also reset thing(not the ping but chances to get your pwps).

yea thanks for the advice but I tried that already and it didn't change anything...and if it's just a case of bad luck for the day then i'm screwed because I'm TT to stay on this day for a while. Hopefully it's not the luck tho =/

I got a lot of ping randomly when I on my TT-ing (an accident of me TT backward a month when trying to void Paula) and get a few from there xD but not a recommend way if only for pwps lol~They will suggest anyway if you re not rush =x

Why in the world would they make something so critical to the game so ridiculously hard to get? This is baffling to me I'm seriously about to punch a wall or something this is so infuriating >.>

It's random, but if you see a lot of villagers wandering in your town, you should try.
All of the results are random, I tried 3 times and I got no suggestions tyvm you helpful Dreamies ;w;

I think it has to do something with your luck.. if Katrina says 'luck is attempting to visit you' or something like that and you wear whatever she tells you to wear, your luck increases by a large percent, and this means you will have more 'pings' for PWPs ^^

as long as you're staying in the water for at least 5mins, and you make sure that no one is telling you that you need a rest, your doing fine <3

I guess i'll keep trying for a little longer and if I still get nothing then I'll just wait for a luckier day or whenever katrina decides to visit and I'll wear whatever she recommends. I guess I just chose a really bad day to attempt to do this =/

I'm coming towards the end of my available pwps, so I understand the feeling you have about this trick failing.
It has only worked when my inventory is full of shells. It also will only work when you have a villager type that still has pwps available to suggest.
I have only 1 available, and yet darn Monique doesn't want to suggest it. (Modern Light)

In my experience, 5-6 minutes is not enough time. I always stay in the water for about ten minutes. You don't even need to swim to the barrier. Just stay in the water.

You could be unlucky in getting requests. But if you already got a PWP suggestion that day, it is very unlikely you will get a second suggestion.

Always fill your invo with flowers as well to prevent villagers from trying to sell or buy items.

Friendship level definitely. Phoebe and me have a really high friend ship, and she started pinging constantly, even 2 times when I didn't even use the diving trick. c:

I still have 3 more pwps to go though, also the "save and quit" definitely works for me too. ^~^

in Azalea i get them every 2 days or so:/
