Welcome to my 2nd journal dedicated to my 2nd island, also called Hazzard! I wanted to call it Hazzard County, but it wouldn't fit into character limit. I started it back in June 2022, and will be updating shortly!
Introduction
I was lucky enough to be able to start a second island back in June 2022. I was planning to call this island Hazzard County, but the characters were limited, so if I mention Hazzard County/County, I’m referring to my second island! I started off with my starters as Cherry and Poncho. After a few hours of playing, I decided I didn’t like my island layout or my fruit, as I ended up with pears again. I didn’t know when I started my first island that there were different layouts, I thought the 4 that were there, were the only options! I wasn’t too fussed on my starter villagers, but I wasn’t too bothered about that as I have amiibo cards, so I could soon evict them. So, after a restart, I got peaches as my native fruit, tulips as my native flower and an orange airport! I was happy with that as they are all different to my first island. My starters this time were Hamlet and Katt. Hamlet remains on my island, but Katt is long gone!
Progress
I haven’t really done such with this island, as I’ve always been focused on Hazzard.
Here’s my progress so far:
Plans
To weed the island and dig up the overgrown flowers. It’s a mess! I hate using ladders even when they are attached to a cliff, so my plan is to flatten most of the island. I tend to find that villagers wander around the whole village a lot more ever since I flattened my main island. I might make a few water falls, maybe an odd bridge and incline. The first time round I was short on bells so had to budget, but now I’m a bellionaire I have a lot more options. I do have a heart shaped pond that a few visitors have commented on when looking at the map! It was just luck with the island layout, I didn’t even notice until it was pointed out to me! Since I had some experience, I did lay the houses out in rows and shops and Museum are together. I might move the campsite next to Resident Services, as there is a space and hopefully it should fit.
Buck (Should Buck the 2nd come to live on Hazzard County?)
I’ve thought ever since I started about having Buck on this island , however I feel as if it wouldn’t be right, as he wouldn’t be my Buck. I am going to make him a vacation home once I can scan his amiibo card.
Villagers
I often change my villagers, as I like to experience with different types and villagers I’ve never met. My favourite on this island, who has King status is Elmer! I absolutely love Elmer, and he will be a permanent villager. He has a Royal crown just to confirm his importance! Of course, though, not a patch on the King of all Kings, Buck! I think Hamlet and Dobie will be permanent residents too.
Present villagers: Hamlet, Kyle, Curt, Pietro, Elmer, Dobie, Bud, Biff, Groucho and Ione.
Conclusion
I think that’s all for the moment, I will probably not be updating daily as there is a lot of work needed to be done, but I look forward to experimenting with different layouts and design patterns!
Screenshots to be added shortly!
Thanks for reading!

Here’s my progress so far:
- All house plots are filled
- Campsite
- Able Sisters
- Nook’s Cranny
- Museum
- Harv’s Island (I’ve not paid to have any of the NPC plots yet. I have enough bells, just keep forgetting about them!)
- Happy Home Paradise. I’ve not made any vacation homes yet. So, I’m looking forward to starting that again!
