I was just wondering how many people actually restarted since the update. A couple of my friends have restarted because of complications with their town, have you restarted?

Nope! Luckily my campground entrance appeared in a good spot. The update is great and I prefer continuing in my current town than starting fresh and losing all my bugs and fish!

I did, but I was going to anyway and I haven't played in a long time. So it's all good! :)

Kind of? I went ahead and started a brand-new town, which I had wanted to do for a while, but it didn't replace either of my old towns.

I want a new town. That would be so great. But my old one has so many awesome memories and such :D

*COUGH* yeah i have c:
*COUGH COUGH COUGH* ALL YOUR FAULT ISABELLE

no lol i don't wanna start over with the museum and emotions and stuff. a new town would be fresh but i'm trying to work with what i have~

I was going to start over originally, but I ended up remembering how much I like my town, so I decided not to. I might sell most of my furniture and start over on my house, though.

I kept my old town but restarted my second cartridge :)
...Thinking of spending more money and getting a third. RIP my money

I'm in the process! This is day 3 of looking for that perfect town layout, i'm being very picky but that's okay!

I did. I was planning on restarting anyway, because I hated my town name.

I don't understand the point of restarting just becuse there's an update.

i think its mostly for returning players (after 2+ years) who want a fresh start. or jumping on the bandwagon.

honestly im temped to restart because I dont like my house or pernament PWP placement. I can work around it, but its inconvenient.

This is pretty much me, and I slacked on my museum so it's not a huge loss.
Starting with a hefty amount of bells, and keeping my PWP's and getting to pick an actual nice layout, with the station and train colours I like and a good grass type is exciting. (Though, taking me days to find!)

Yes, I have restarted. I was kind of lucky that the first town map that was shown to me had everything that I wanted. :P It saved me hours of restarting the game for the perfect map.

I thought it was the perfect time to restart because before the update, I hadn't touched ACNL for probably over a year and it wasn't developed at all. It's been so nice to come back to new things.

In my case, I had nothing to lose.

I've been thinking about resetting for a while but the only way I'll do it is if I manage to get all the amiibo cards for my dreamies because I don't want to pay tbt for them again, so I haven't yet.

This is me honestly. I haven't played seriously for like a year and a half, maybe longer. So I have no idea where to really pick back up, especially with collecting stuff for my museum. I'm going to miss my neighbors a lot but with the amiibo cards, I'm not longer worried about getting them back. And my irreplaceable furniture I'm storing in my boyfriend's town until I finish restarting.
Those are my reasons for starting over at least. :0

I restarted a bit before the Direct was announced, so I was pretty salty. I've pretty much have gotten over it now.
