Hasbro got flack for a Play-Doh tool resembling a penis.

Just desserts considering it actually looked like a penis, and in a seemingly intentional sort of way.

Here it is

Why can't we all think of it as some transparent caterpillar taking a large purple dump?

Why does it matter? How is it offensive? I'm not following you.

It would be more understandable if society takes action against a company for a more recently introduced toy, but if it were against an older toy, they're being politically correct.

Either way, there's no need to be that overprotective. But I see what was wrong with the play-doh tool.

Someone in product development is either super oblivious, or hilariously sneaky. Yes, it totally looks like a wang, and all the mommies and daddies probably have very similar looking toys in their dresser drawers.

It's all the same these days. Similar to the banning of nursery rhymes like "three blind mice" (and many others) which are banned in a lot of nurseries because they're apparently offensive/racist, etc. It's not like the intentions are there and the kids won't even notice it. Not necessary at all.

Sometimes people just like to nit-pick and look for reasons to complain about things.

People just need to get over it and blame themselves for being so dirty minded.
