Has the flower watering trick worked for you? -Dirt spots-

So I've read a lot about the grass erosion, how it isn't as bad as it used to be, walk on paths to avoid spots, don't run everywhere, the snow will make your grass super green, etc

And IF you have dirt spots, either from running or removing a PWP or a villager moving out, if you plant flowers on the dirt and water them EVERY day, the grass will grow back way faster.

So my question is has this tricked worked for you? I have tons of flower patches over dirt spots and I water them every "day", yet it seems to make very little progress. I TT multiple times while I play so I think that may have an effect, but for each day I go forward or backwards I make sure to water all of the patches. Is there a set timeframe I should be giving the grass to grow back? I never TT more than 2 weeks into the future, and each time I TT I only go forward 1 day to avoid villagers from moving out on me...

There are some dirt patches which will never have grass on them regardless, since that's just how it's programmed

just plant and water every day, play like you normally would and in time youll notice it's growing back

Buuhhhh, it just seems like it's taking forever though. Winter can't come fast enough. For a while I thought it was because I TT so often. :/

The grass grows if you don't walk on it, i don't know about at which speed flowers might help but basically, if you don't touch any of your grass for one month, it all grows back, there will still be some dirt patches though but these are the ones that originally existed in your town those are permanent

You can time travel a month or just walk on paths only and the rest of your grass will grow, at some points throughout the year i didn't play for a around that time particularly with exams, so i have a looot of grass, but i kind of wish i didn't, i want there to be dirt under my paths, because it's the rainy season and i really like the squelch sound of the mud when it rains, it doesn't happen on the grass xD

I don't believe that the water trick works. You will end up killing more grass on the areas that you walk on when you water your flowers. I like to breed mine on the beach. That way, I can walk around and water as much as I like without the worry of grass erosion.

Ahhh, I thought it was only if you ran on the grass did it erode. Maybe I misread the articles, I could give the beach idea a shot to breed the hybrids I suppose.

i tried it for months, and it didnt work for me at all. Actually it made it worse because you have to step on the dead areas as you water them, then it seems like it got muddy. If your ok with it, id recommend time travelling a month forward safely (after a villager asks to move, deny it then your safe to TT forward)
