...gazed up at the night sky and seen a meteor shower? There's one that's been going on tonight!
I just came from outside and I saw a flaming meteor! (it was red, with an orange tail streaking behind). It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! And there were a bunch of blue streaking meteor bits every now and then.

And supposedly this year is supposed to be extra special, and it gives the details on the website article.
The Perseids light up the night when Earth passes through a trail of debris left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle, which swings past the sun roughly every 130 years.

Tonight will be your last chance to see the Perseid meteor shower at its peak

There was supposed to be one last night, but I had to go to bed. My friends stayed up and got pics, though I haven't seen them yet.

ah lucky cuz nothing like that ever happens here
did you record it?
It's happening all over the Earth, I believe. =P You just gotta get somewhere without a lot of "light pollution." (Artificial light, where the night sky doesn't seem as clear)

No, I couldn't record it. It was too dark to really see anything with the camera I had. But I did get a sweet picture of the summer moon.

Even if you aren't able to see it today, you can still try and see some of it the rest of the week. Today was just the last day you could observe it at it's "Peak".
