Has anybody ever actually gotten Snow Tyke gifts?

I've never even managed to make more than one Snowmam and one Snowboy. Snowmen are easy, but Mam and Boy were not so easy for me, and I could never manage to make a Snowtyke, so even the idea of getting his entire family together was impossible for me.

Anybody manage to actually do it? I never did, and now that Winter is around the corner, I'm actually nervous about the idea that I'll soon see snowballs in my town again and get the willies because I failed so dismally last winter.

I have. I've gotten the snowman matryoshka and the snow bunny from the little tyke too.

I did, once. I was aiming for the snow bunny but I got the snowman matryoshka.

Oh, wow! You guys really put me to shame! Lol! Okay, if you two can do it, even if you were aiming for a different gift, then I should be able to. I suppose I can try to save before each build instead of just sucking it up when I mess up a Snow Person.

I am just so darned inept at something that I didn't think would be so hard. Not only did I actually feel proud of myself when I built my first several perfect Snowmen and began to get Bingo Gifts, but then I got cocky and began to not watch where I was going and lost more snowballs into the river, a pond, or over a freaking cliff. >_< And then there was that one time (not at Band Camp) where I didn't watch where I was going and accidentally pushed the snowball on top of my first one and screwed up the Snowman because the head wasn't large enough. Ack!

I managed to as well. I didn't know about the bunny, I ended up getting the matryoshka as well. I love the winter time in New Leaf, so I'm looking forward to making more snowmen too.

at first I loved to build snowmen and then I eventually gave up lol, but hey I think I will build more this winter.

I figured out how to make the snowboy in my new harvest town last year.
Set it on winter and cut all the trees down. The snowboy was hard but once it click I was making them most of the time.

I found the best time was before 5pm so they don't move. Also saved just before I put the head on the body. Make a mistake you can leave the game and restart. Also having having some dirty where you plan on putting the snowperson together helps.
When I don't feel it I change it abit. Moving the snowball to put it on top can make it too big.

It's winter in my 2nd real town right now. I started off making snowmama and than got my snowboy making skills back again.
Think I've made 8 sets of the snowboy series in all my different towns.

When I go for all four I make the ones that are hard to make first. Snowboy,snowmama,snowtyke and than the dad.
I've complete about 6 sets of the snowtyke items.

And...that's how I got the Ice Series and most of the Snowman items! Lol! I wonder if I can hire stitchmaker to come to my town this winter and build me a family?

You know...I WAS kidding, but actually people may be up for that! If I can post and earn TBT bells maybe I can help the economy by giving people a job. But seriously...now I want to do that if I can't do it myself. Or...wow...does that just make me a slacker?

Ask them or someone that lives with you to try. Seeing one made would be helpful.

Ah...I should have thought of that - of course visitors can't make snowpeople just like they can't give you bugs or fish. I do know somebody who may be able to help me out, tho, as you suggested. Heh...older lady going to a neighbour's kid and asking her for help! Well, she'll probably do it in no time flat. Heck, she may even be able to teach me.

It is helpful to know that the guide may not be the most accurate way. I'll try to make the head a tad smaller for the boy then I think I should - but before that - SAVE SAVE SAVE!!! I'll make sure to keep on trying but saving first otherwise there is another day wasted.

I did try a guide, but not that one. Thanks! Bookmarking and emailing the link to myself. I have used Bidoof for patterns but not the other stuff. I've been relying mostly on Thonky or what is posted at GameFaqs. Then I just gave up and tried to eye-ball it. I'll try Bidoof's Guide. I'm going to take a look-see at it right now.

Thank you, hon! I want them, too, and I am such a hoarder... heh heh... but they ARE cute! I'll just need to get a bigger house for one of my alternate characters, I guess.

And yeah...I think the Thonky is not clear enough - I need pics to be sure of what I'm doing.

I had such a hard time with the snow tyke items.I couldn't figure out why i got three matrokoshkas in a row.I know i spelled that wrong.lol.

When i found out their was a system to getting all the pieces, i still couldn't get it.Luckily a very nice person sold me my missing items.

That's okay; I can't spell that, either! But we all know what you mean.

Yeah...that IS very weird! As I understand it, you have to build his family WRONG to get all the items? That is just...odd...

And also another "yeah" to the nice people here who can sell or trade us the items we can't get on our own.

BTW...I've been meaning to visit your DA's. I am building the DS and should have it done by tomorrow. I look forward to seeing your towns and giving you my impressions.

I never could. Most of what I wanted I had to get second hand from retail, lol. I just can't seem to eyeball the snowballs to the right size. After a while, I just gave up.
