So in my town I am going to have a good witch, who is the mayor of the town and I am going to have an evil witch who is going to be the evil witch from Hansel and Gretel who eats children and lives in a candy house.

Now I know clearly I am going to pack the kitchen room with candy and furniture from the sweets set, but I am kind of lost on what to use as the "oven" the kids shove her in. So here are the options as far as I can see:

Clay furnace, nice and old fashioned looking but not really an "oven"

Stove, kitchy looking and newer more cute than scary

Potbelly Stove, really menacing looking at least in my opinion all cast iron and stuff, once again not really an oven

Range and Deluxe range, really just a stovetop not an oven

Stewpot, could definitly cook down a small child in this pot but not traditional

Cauldron,
any good witch needs a nice cauldron, but is it practical for child cooking?

So I need opinions on what would look best, or if you have another better option that'd be awesome too. I just don't know what would look the best with the theme...

i definitely think the potbelly stove is the best way to go, it's the closest to what i've always imagined the stove in the story to be like ;w;
second option would probably be clay furnace and then the cauldron. idk i personally think it's better to go for an older look since the fairytale of hansel and gretel is kind of rly Old, so imo it would be weird to have modern looking stuff in the house :o

alsO i really love your idea, it's a perfect use of the candy exterior for the house!! good luck with your town

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking that the stoves and ranges were a bit modern and I am trying to keep it "older" looking

Clay furnace and cauldron. I definitely wouldn't use the modern stuff at all, since it's a very old fairytale.

Personally I always imagined it as a big clay oven so thats what I voted for but I can see the potbelly stove working as well

I think I am going to do just a main room as the "kitchen" and then a basement with skeletons and "child" things like a trike and maybe a few other "abandoned" toys.

I voted for the potbelly stove, because that's what I always pictured. The clay furnace would also be a great choice.

I like your basement idea, including having the cauldron there.

Yeah I'm p much torn now between the potbelly and clay, I'll probably order both and try them out and see. I think the potbelly would be a really start contrast to the candy house, and the clay would more so kind of fit with it

I chose the cauldron because in the original story the witch did try to cook the children in the cauldron so yeah :)

Ok I didn't remember it like that so I just read the original German story (1850 version).
It does in fact say that she wants to cook H?nsel in the cauldron but she ALSO wants to bake Gretel in the oven (the one she eventually dies in herself).
So technically you need BOTH xD

Hungry witch...

Yeah I thought I remember the cauldron too, but knew for sure she died in the oven when they pushed her in.

The clay furnace most resembles the one in the story where the children end up pushing the witch into it at the end. ^^

im doing a witch themed town actually :-))!
I would recommend using the pot belly stove or the clay furnace to add that "scary" effect, because the other stoves. also, you should definitely add the cauldron but probably in another room (perhaps the basement?).

I'll have to play around with it when I build it. I should build it soon though so I can catch the sweets exteriors as they show up...

[sub]cauldron, because unlike the other choices (sans stew pot) it's more straightforward in its design. a person could go into the house, see the cauldron, and immediately think "oh, it's the witch's house from hansel and gretel." the other furniture choices leave more guessing than the cauldron.[/sub]
