Pokémon Hacked Pokemon on the GTS

Well I just wanted to let some steam out for my blunder yesterday at the GTS. I really wanted a Keldeo and put on thr GTS my hard earned shiny greninja timid with protean and perfect stats. I hatched it during my XY game. I traded it on the GTS because that mama greninja gave birth to another with the same stats so It was an extra.

I forgot that Keldeo is an event pokemon and I was supposed to get my greninja back.. unfortunately somebody traded me a keldeo in a cherish ball. It had weird stats and it was kalos born which is a total baloney.

I know it was my blunder and I just wanted to share that people should be more careful on thr GTS. Here I am mourning the loss of mama greninja. Baby greninja is doing fine though.

Well at least you didn't lose all traces of it. Just remember to be careful what Pokemon you offer, you never know what people might do or how fast they will do it...

yeah it was really heartbreaking it was a hard lesson. the keldeo was okay though but it was obviously hacked since it was kalos born and researched it and people had similar problems...

maybe nintendo should do something about it.

So sorry this happened to you. Nintendo's GTS filters have always been pretty terrible when it comes to weeding out hacks. The main problem is that it lacks a comprehensive legality checker and can't read trash bytes correctly (the residual data left over when the game generates a .pkm or .pkx file) and only checks the most basic components of the Pok?mon, so it's always been very easy to pass hacks into the GTS.

I do agree that Nintendo should buff their filters, but highly doubt it'll ever happen.

Well it was this keldeo more or less but

1. It didnt have a ribbon. Thats why it was traded in the gts
2. It had wonky stats. All iv at 30 exact and one with 0 IV
3. It wasnt japan tagged which was supposed to be. It even had an english name which was supposed to be.
4. It was caught feb 2014. The hacker probably made a mistake since dec 2014 to april 2015 was the event date

Those are the reasons that made me think the keldeo was fake. Sad as it is.

Someone also tried to trade with me a Sylveon that knew hyper voice...but I noticed it was Kalos born. Which is weird because for an eevee to learn hyper voice... it should be from black or white 2 born and have it learn hyper voice from the move tutor. (Because I have one of those eevee). ORAS and XY pokemon cant be sent back to black and white 2 so I knew it was a fake.

Lots of hackers in the pokemon world I tell you.

oh yeah it says it has one in the battle resort. Now I have 2 sylveons with hyper voice. 1 Sinnoh Born and 1 Kalos born. Rejoice! Thanks so much for the info.. (I feel a little bit lighter inside now)

Pokemon trade is pretty much ruined. It's very discouraging for me to pick up Pokemon again because of all the hackers out there. Heck, I even have to use a 6 IV Shiny Ditto when breeding my Pokemon to have an edge, but we all know that isn't a legit Pokemon either. Sorry for your loss though. I honestly didn't know people could manage to trade events over GTS.

yeah they actually remove the ribbons on them. the cherish ball is trade-able but it is the ribbon that makes them untradable..

on the brighter side i have a spare 6IV bold shiny sylveon with hyper voice kalos born. I even made an effort to transfer a shiny eevee from pokemon black 2 that know hyper voice because i love sylveon.. AND now I have a spare.
