Gyroids bring down hha score?

So I've been focusing on my house a bit in new leaf, and I always check my score with Lyle daily, and whenever I put a gyroid in one of my rooms the score seems to drop the next day. Is it because these gyroids? Because these are the only changes I make to my house and the score drops. Also I do not go crazy with the gyroids, I only add one, the maximum I have in all my rooms is just 2 in one of my rooms.

I assume it's because they don't fit in with the rest of your room's theme. For example, if your room includes everything in the ice set and nothing else, then introducing a gyroid could kill that.

Generally I've only known them to really increase the score though. :/

Gyroids have themes like everything else. Maybe the ones you're using don't match with the rest of your furniture? moridb lists all the gyroids and what themes they go with. It could also be that you're using only one or two so the game is treating it as an incomplete set and not giving you the boost you should get.

It has to do with themes and color placement in each room. If you don't know about feng shui and how it effects your score you can look for examples and explanations all over google. With gyriods especially it is very helpful.
