Much, much, much butter than the older videos. In regards to the quality, of course.

The music is excellent. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. I am particularly fond of the "Delicado" piece. Don't let the slow beginning deceive you... it gets fast. :)

Wow...

The sound quality (and video too) is absolutely amazing. D:

And of course, the music itself is amazing too. =P

What kind of camera is it?

Thanks. : ) It's a Samsung SC-MX20... I got it for $220. Relatively inexpensive compared to other cameras on the market... granted, this one isn't HD or anything, but it's certainly a step up from the 8mm tape camcorder I had before, hah.

K.K. Dirge, huh... that'd be a difficult one to arrange... I'll see what I can do though. :P

Do you know how massively talented you are? I just wanted to get that out of the way.

But this is a thread about your new camera. The video quality isn't bad, I'm sure youtube lies to us a little bit though, and the audio quality is very nice as well.

Now back to what I was saying. I don't believe I have been subjected to your music, and I'm very very sad about that. I've never broken into listening to this particular genre, but you've got me sold. As a musician myself, I only wish I was as talented as you. I'll be picking up your CD, is there a way to get a hold of the first one that's listed on your site?

I really do apologize for the sudden fangasm from me, but I'm very impressed. XD I hope you forgive me.

Wow... thank you!!! :)

The first one is sadly out of print... and I don't think I'll put it in print again, because I think the new one is a ton better. :P Thanks so much for picking up the CD, though, I'll ship it out ASAP!

Hahaha, no problem. :D

Wellll, since you don't think you'll print the old one again, would you consider plopping mp3s up for download or something? Or are those tracks lost with the ages, and for the best? XD

Well, I do have one original copy of the CD, and I guess I could put mp3s up, but... I dunno... I'd rather not. XD It's definitely not indicative of how I play right now, in any case -- 2 years doesn't seem like much, but the difference between the first and second CD is enormous, in terms of quality.

Dangit. XD I guess it's the same with me, I'd rather have my older stuff completely die as well.

Anyway, I just got the CD today, and I know this probably isn't the best place to talk about this since it's about your camera, but you did some really amazing work here. The case got a little roughed up it seems, but everything's in one piece. I listened to it on the way to and from work today, it was really nice stuff. A lot of it is sad sounding, though. Either that, or the fact that everything is orange outside and it's raining today made me think of it that way. Anyway, I'm rambling, thanks a ton for sending it. :D

EDIT: For what it's worth, checking out the samples for your first album, it's really not that bad!

I'm glad you liked the CD. : ) I didn't purposely go for a sad theme, it just kinda happened, hehe... it's more nostalgic than sad, though, I think. Or "melancholic"... I dunno. XD

When (if) I make back what it cost to make Watercolors of the World, I've already got ideas for another album. Well, actually, I have three ideas...

1) A tribute album to Antonio Carlos Jobim; my arrangements of 20 or so of Jobim's underrated or forgotten tunes.
2) A modern flamenco album with jazz influences.
3) A "sequel" to Watercolors of the World, with tunes from all over the place; Spain, Italy, etc etc...

At this point, #2 is the least likely to happen, simply because I don't think I'm good enough of a flamenco guitarist to record in the style competently. Plus, I'll need someone to do percussion, "palmas", violin, etc... a second guitar, too... But a flamenco album would be kick-ass, if done right. Maybe in a few years...

Dude. Honestly, I think going with 2 is a good idea. You may doubt yourself, but hearing your stuff, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks you'll be able to pull it off. And hey, if you're waiting to recoup your funds from WotW, you have time to practice at it. However, if you're really set against it, it's always your choice. The Jobim compilation sounds interesting itself as well, I hadn't heard of him until I started listening to your stuff and it's all really great.

Yeah... to tell you the truth, I've always dreamed of recording a flamenco album. My main inspiration in flamenco comes from people like Paco de Lucia, Gerardo Nunez, Tomatito, Vicente Amigo, Chicuelo, etc (I highly recommend checking them all out, their music is AMAZING), especially from the following albums:

Luzia - Paco de Lucia
Andando el Tiempo - Gerardo Nunez
Aguadulce - Tomatito

If I could record something that's even 1/100th as good as any of the above albums, I'll consider the project a success, haha... but yeah, I'm certainly not set against it. I just don't think I'm quite ready yet. If I had the time and money, I'd fly over to Spain and study with the flamenco masters for a year. Then I'd have much more solid base in the genre, I think...

The Jobim compilation is more realistic at this point because, since recording Watercolors, I've arranged 5 or 6 "obscure" Jobim compositions that I really think could use more exposure. Some of them have never been performed on solo guitar... and one of my personal favorites was only recorded ONCE, by Jobim himself...

Speaking of Jobim, I highly HIGHLY recommend listening to his stuff. The guy is a genius. Some of my favorite albums of his:

Stone Flower
Wave
Elis & Tom

But anyway... if I were to go with #2, I'd have to compose some more original flamenco material. The thing with flamenco is you're not taken seriously unless you compose and play your own stuff. I've already composed a few flamenco tunes (4, to be exact, but I'm constantly refining them and adding new riffs), and the ideal track count for a flamenco album is 8 - 10 from what I've surmised, so I've got plenty of time... I guess. :P
