I recently got Goldeneye Wii, and I was wondering if anyone else here has it, and if they wanna play online?

I mostly play on Team Campaign, so if you wanna WiFi with me, your best chance is on there. My name on there is Charlie by the way, so if you wanna play with me, just let me know.

sorry bro, i play goldeneye: source when i wanna do multiplayer bond.

rented it, my little brother wants it for christmas, but i hated it.

don't mean to bash it, though. good luck finding somebody who plays :)

This game is a troll. On WiFi, I was like 26-4, then the game froze at the last second. FFFFFF. But, anyway, if you wanna add me, FC is on my page.

This game got good reviews, which I totally didn't expect. However, now that I've actually played it I honestly don't see the appeal. True it took several cues from Call of Duty and gave the Wii its first functioning multiplayer shooter, (although it would be third-rate on the other consoles,) it's still pretty sloppy in general. Perhaps it is better using the classic controller, as I used the Wiimote and nunchuck, but I don't know that that would be enough to make the game passable.

We're talking about online. :<

Well, your right, it did take some things off from Modern Warfare 2, but I think Black Ops was more like Goldeneye so Black Ops copied it a little bit.

what?

goldeneye is a derivative work of modern warfare 2.. while the sequel/next-of-kin to modern warfare 2 is a derivative work of goldeneye, although goldeneye copied from it's predecessor?

im confus.

Uhhh...?

Well, let's see. They both got:

-Same type of aiming
-Sprinting
-Online features
-Melee
-How you throw those grenades with the red line coming out
-Some of the same guns but different name

When I first played Goldeneye Wii my first thought was, ''Wow, this game is a lot like CoD: MW2.''

I didn't play MW2 story mode, just the multiplayer. I know Black Ops has that meter thing to tell you how far your objective/check point is.

I'm talking about the multiplayer.

I'm sorry but you're delusional if you think Treyarch took anything from Eurocom's Goldeneye. First of all, the fact that the games were released only a week apart makes any sort of influence of one on the other impossible. Games are finished and sent out about a month before their releases to allow time for manufacturing. Secondly, most of the features we're talking about here were actually first popularized by Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 (from 2007), including the *censored.3.0*ing engine on which Goldeneye runs. The only reason they were even allowed to use IW's engine was because Activision published both games.

So Eurocom's Goldeneye owes a whole lot to the Call of Duty franchise.

try just about any shooter from last gen onwards.

killzone, to name one. killzone 2, to name another. and i didn't keep up with anything, much less xbox/ps3, for the past year or two. until the last few months, since joining here. bleh. awful sentence. uncharted has a grenade-locator as well, if you want to use that as an example. a particle effect behind the grenade is nothing too fancy.. TF2 has a *censored.2.0* ton of particle effects. they're everywhere.

if you're using IRL guns, you're going to have some overlapping.

point is, all those "features" are in pretty much every FPS nowadays. i assume.

but eh.

edit: and i totally agree it felt like a call of duty game, not the old goldeneye like it was marketed. if it was using the old CoD engine, that'd make sense. but still, i don't think it really suited the game. but i could be wrong.

watched my little brother play it some today, he got it for xmas (why instead of black ops on ps3, i have no clue..) but it didn't look anything like what i remember the original being. but, i could just be a bit judgmental. it didn't feel like the original, for better/worse.

Well, I haven't really been playing new shooting games. Only shooting games I play are James Bond, a tiny bit of Call of Duty, and Fallout. I did find the gameplay in Fallout 3 almost like CoD, so I guess you're right about how the new FPS games are looking.

(un)

I guess it brang back good times for him on the ol' N64. Plus, if he's an Nintendo fan, ''great FPS on Wii'' would be news. Goldeneye for Wii is a great game to me. I am a big 007 Goldeneye fan.

I gots teh movie, teh N64 game, and teh new Wii gamez

okay.
first off.
fallout is an rpg.
k?
k.

also, if you haven't been keeping up with what's been implemented and what hasn't been, how are you to know one way or the other?

he never played it on n64. he borrowed black ops from a friend and played it for a while. we have a ps3 right there. he's using the classic controller. there is literally no reason other than it being goldeneye and a $10 difference to buy black ops instead.

he isn't a james bond fan, he's not even 12 years old. all he knows is that it was a good n64 game, and he only knows that because people say it was, so he assumes that.

for you, the reasons add up. you're a fan of the movie, and you liked the first game. you don't mind playing it on the wii. for him, he isn't/wasn't a fan of the movie, and never played the first game. playing it to have a goldeneye for a new generation is not only invalid since it was not like the original, but also doesn't make sense to me since there's a perfectly good source engine mod called Goldeneye: Source that is about as faithful to the original as can be, without switching over to a call of duty/realistic FPS.

but eh. again, to each their own. really didn't mean to post this much. oh well.

*cough*
if you don't usually play FPS games, sure. if you already have an fps game or two, i'd say you could probably pass on it and not miss much.

already been said it feels a lot like call of duty, just a different/goldeneye-themed one.

it got good reviews, and there's people who play it online. meh.

Oh. I thought he might have really liked the N64 version so much he wanted the new Wii game too. That is a little weird that he picked Goldeneye over Black Ops since he had never played the N64 game or the movie.

Fallout is a shooting game. Unless you're thinking about the SNES version. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are more of an FPS game.
