I decided to load up this game again and I wanted to do shiny hunting. So I'm doing the Masuda Method for shiny Mareep, and as usual, the Mareep population is now 27 times bigger. So if you want a Mareep, just say so! You can specify gender and nature if you want. Here's a list of natures. I'm still extremely confused on IVs, but most of them look pretty much the same except for gender and nature. All of them are level 1 with no nicknames, and are in a Premier Ball if you must know everything.

And I still don't have the shiny yet, so I'm expecting to get MUCH more.

You have to go to the IV checker in the town that you gain access to after you beat the elite four. Purple haired NPC in the pokecenter there(stands by the changing room)

edit: I could breed you a 5IV one for breeding if you like. I can make sure it has a helpful nature too.

I know about the IV checker, but he always seems to be contradictory. He'll say that the Pokemon has about average stats or something like that. Then he'll say the best stat. After that, he'll say that the stats "can't be beat!" which I thought meant perfect IV's, but then why did he say their stats were average? Ad I'm fine without the mareep, but thanks anyways.

If he's saying average stats, that means the IVs are average for the pokemon, but you've also got some perfect IVs on it if he's saying certain ones can't be beat.

Um, I'd like to take a Mareep please, if you're still giving them away? I'd prefer female, but gender isn't a big issue!

I have boxes of them, so even the most specific order probably won't be an issue. :D What nature do you want?

Ok, that makes more sense.

I can explain IVs in the simplest way possible!

IVs, or Individual Values are pretty much the DNA of a Pokemon. Wild Pokemon will almost certainly have a different IV spread. Each stat; HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Speed have different values 0 to 31. 31 for a stat is considered "1IV" or "1V" in Japan. Say you breed a Pancham and these are its IVs:

HP - 26
Attack - 31
Defense - 20
Sp. Atk - 8
Sp. Def - 31
Speed - 30

The stats that have 31 IVs are maxed out. Pancham has two 31 IVs, one in Attack and one Sp. Def So this Pancham would be a "2IV" Pancham.

There are some tips for breeding good IV'd Pokemon, too. You should start at the Friend Safari where every Pokemon is guaranteed to have at least 2IVs. Catch a Pokemon you like with the IV spread you want. If you don't like the first one you get, catch another until you get what you want for your offspring. For example say you catch a Braixen. He has 2IVs in Sp. Atk and Speed. Putting him in the Day-care holding a DESTINY KNOT with a Ditto will transfer the IVs from the Braixen to the Fennekin offspring. It doesn't mater which parent holds the Destiny Knot, as both of their IVs will be passed down.
You can also catch Dittos in a Friend Safari as well. Just look on Pokemon forums and you'll find one. I found mine on /vp/. Now let's say the Ditto is 2IVs in HP and Sp. Def. If both Pokemon; Braixen (2IVs in Sp. Atk and Speed) and Ditto (2IVs in HP and Sp. Def) breed together the Fennekin offspring will have 4IVs in HP, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Speed. You will most likely not get it on the first egg but keep trying until you do!

I hope that wasn't too confusing! ^^;
