Girl friend/Boy friends in AC. Is that a thing?

Hear me out, I thought about it and was just curious. Was that ever a thing, having a boyfriend or a girl friend in animal crossing? I could see it being interesting, and making the game a bit more fun, you would have someone else to always play with, get gifts for and stuff like that. It wouldn't be anything serious, but just purely for fun. Just to add to the game and possibly make a friend. Am I just a weirdo?

I wouldn't really think it was necessary to have one because there's no wedding things you can do in game. I get it if you could have a ceremony and everything (as some games do) but in AC, there's no point.

I've met people who share towns with their boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife, but I haven't heard anything about RP relationships. It sounds a little odd. I'm fine with just having good friends. xD

My husband and I share a town, and I'm really grateful for how understanding he's been about my "thing" with Henry the frog...j/k. Truthfully OP, I can see what you're saying becoming a reality, as people begin to lead more and more of their lives online through virtual proxies. I'm not gonna judge it. I don't know if it was ever a thing though, since this is the first time I've ever bothered with the online component of a game- wouldn't surprise me though.

haha thanks for helping me understand, i'm not young i'm 19, and i was just thinking having a friend like that would make the game a bit more fun and kind of give a reason to play.. I have to emphasize I mean purely for the fun aspect of it, nothing weird or anything like that. I know in mmos players date other players so I thought why not in AC haha.

I don't see why not...unless it was specific to only Animal Crossing. I wouldn't really see the point in that case. Don't see it turning out well.

My boyfriend and I both play Animal Crossing. I found a giant clam shell and my store had K.K.'s 'I love you' for sale. I bought it and made a music box out of it for him.

I could see this working well for some, but since my girlfriend in real-life plays the game with me, it doesn't exactly appeal to me haha. xD

That is an interesting idea lol o.o. From my gaming experience I have seen a lot of this on an mmo I played called fiesta online. In some cases the players actually met each other in real life and got married, quit the game, and lived out their relationship in real life. In other instances they met each other in real life and had a relationship both in game and real life. I don't see this happening in a game like animal crossing though lol xD.

More power to you, even if it was serious. I've dated online before.. even through a game once.. (but we talked on skype and what not as well of course) but mainly bonded/interacted on the game. It did make it more fun. Also many people do roleplaying which does not include seriousness, and find it fun so i'm sure you could find someone.

If we're roleplaying though I so call being the little brother! haha Just have fun and do whatever you want with your game/life ya know?

Currently i'm trying to get my crush to get animal crossing, and (well lets call them secret) secret knows I like them, and they kinda like me back so I think playing ac together would be interesting. XD

When I was younger my cousins and I would make characters and then make them boyfriend and girlfriend with eachother. We'd only do the heart emotion though and walk on the beach. Cute though. Once we pretended our characters had a baby and my other cousin made a baby character and dressed her in the dummy. It was sweet but pointless, we got bored easy.
