getting the camper to kick out a specific villager?

I'm so sorry because I'm sure that there already are threads here discussing it, but I had a really hard time finding updated information on this here so I decided to post this anyway.

I'm aware that there is a way to get a campsite visitor to kick out a specific villager but I'm unsure how to do it and I was wondering if anyone had done this recently? Either that or if someone knows a reliable guide I could use I'd appreciate it...

I've seen this reffered to as a glich or a bug so I worried that it might've been patched or changed in the last few months.

So I just need some help figuring out if this is even worth trying out since I have so many dreamies already that I would hate to loose.

If you use and amiibo then you can choose the villager to kick out. If you don’t have amiibo like me then when you talk to the camper and they agree to move in they will pick one of you villagers to replace. Don’t answer them instead close out the game without saving. Open the game back up and go back to the camper and ask them to move in again. You might have to repeat this process and you might have to talk to them a lot because they don’t always want to move in the first time you ask. Just keep repeating the process until they name a villager that you want to get rid of and keep in mind that they’re less likely and might not even pick your last villager that moved in

You go through the entire process to the point they suggest somebody. Not who you want? Close the game out completely without saving or finishing the conversation. Then go back in and start over. Repeat until you get the name you want.

Alright so I just can't press A or B after they mention someone I want to keep and instead close the game and they'll suggest someone else?

Sounds stressful but I think I'll try it out...

It's actually pretty easy, I did it with 2 campers so far with no glitches or fuss just make sure you force close right after they say the unwanted name and you're fine

Oh, wow, I assumed you could pick who they kicked out with random campers- good to know you can't

Not that I ever get good random campers. I always have my hopes up for, like, Tangy or Raymond... last time I got Clay- no offense to those who like him but I think he's pretty much my least favorite lazy

I just tried it with Whitney at my campsite and it worked! As long as I didn't press A to close the thought bubble she would pick a different name each time. Took me a while but I got her to pick who I wanted!

Then again, Diana has been like my most woodsy villager. She’s fine with the island rep being feral and living in the woods outside, and I’ve caught her sipping a soda while sitting in a leaf pile!

IDK, snooties seem a lot more self-sufficient in this game. Like, yes, they're elegant and a bit snobby... but they're also not gonna take any nonsense and are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, thank you very much.

I had Cleo on my island for a bit and loved her house- looked like she was running an internet start-up from her home. She was sassy, smart, AND successful. I imagine all the snooties in this game like that!

Yeah I guess depending on the hobbies and all the personalities have different depths.

IDK, snooties seem a lot more self-sufficient in this game. Like, yes, they're elegant and a bit snobby... but they're also not gonna take any nonsense and are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, thank you very much.

I just got blindsided cuz I’m used to the insufferable city girls of previous games. Diana is definitely a favorite of mine now. I’ll just have to see how Francine is.
