Well what do we got here its the 3rd generation the black sheep of the whole series, the shadow of the rest, in my opinion the most underrated generation of the series. but why is it so different? my you ask? well if my info serves me right after gold/silver/crystal people thought it was the end and they kinda wanted it to be the end BUT then came along sapphire and ruby people got a little annoyed they dident like it very much it was a all new way of pokemon. i think the fans dident like the pokemon designs to also not liking the text. another thing people really disliked was no team rocket!!! people where wtf their a classic. all the little things keep pileling up and here are we now still not much credit for 3rd gen. now that im done talking i found a article on bulbanews about the 3rd gen. and i thought you guy should hear it (sorry if my grammer sucked)all credit goes to bulbanews thanks

The "bashing" of Hoenn, its Pok

I love you.

Hoenn is my favorite region and will always be my favorite (unless Isshu turns out to be superior). The designs, the geography, the Pokemon, the new mechanics, everything about gen III I loved. It was such a breath of fresh air from the past generations, which is partly what made it seems so awesome to me.

You know they'll eventually remake Ruby and Sapphire after Black & White ...
I'd love to see that ...

You kidding me? We all know it'll happen at some point in time. It'll probably be the first 3D Pokemon title.

As for Hoenn, I enjoyed the region. But later on in the game, it became increasingly difficult to train certain types of Pokemon that you would need against the Elite 4. Types like fire, ground, rock, maybe a few others, all became a pain to train against water and other ground/rock types. I hated that the most. It you didn't pick Torchic as your starter, you were at a disadvantage for the last fourth of the game.

I played it, but something wasn't right for me, so I stopped playing after reaching the first gym.

I loved Hoenn. Introduced me to favourites like Sceptile, Flygon, Altaria, Gardevoir, Swampert, Mightyena, Gardevoir, Aggron, Manetric, Armaldo, Absol, Salamence, and Metagross. Kay. The graphics aren't as good as nowadays. But any time next year, we will be hearing the names "Ruby and Sapphire" again as Pokemon reveals remakes.

Hoenn is my favorite region because it had good graphics, the pokemon were cool, Torchic, Groudon, diving, Teams Magma and Aqua, just everything.

I stopped playing after I realized you don't get a vs seeker, just that *censored.2.0*ty pokenav.

I can agree with the terrain part, I lover the underwater and all the new locations, but in that generation they started introducing too many legends, and the pokemon in general weren't as well designed.

tl;dr

And besides, I find nothing wrong with the 3rd generation. I find the 4th one worse.

Absol looks like an early version of Arceus in a small way

The 3rd gen games were some of my favorites, and I just don't understand why people bash them... they're just like every other pokemon game (New trainer, first pokemon, collect 8 badges, stop bad guys, become champion)
I admit, the lack of connectivity to older games was a let down at the time... but it's 7 years later, there's no reason to still be upset.
The only reason Ruby & Sapphire isn't my favorite game is because GSC has 2 regions... giving you alot to do after ther elite 4.

I loved the 3rd gen. It's where I started playing, so there's lots of nostalgia. Besides, I love the Pokemon designs. I don't see how anyone could hate them so much.

that ocean KILLED the game, for me.

I hate all sea routes, though... mainly because you have to fight at least 100 tentacool to get where you're trying to go. repel solves that, but it's still a nuisance.

thinking about it... there oughta be some kind of wild grass for the ocean :/ or at least a safe zone that isn't land.. some way to get away from the same horrible pokemon over and over.

gen 3 was alright, I remember playing it a lot, but I don't recall "liking" it. it was just gba pokemon... I know I hated the map though, because of the ocean.

and sootopolis... why couldn't there have been a bridge or something ;_; I don't wanna have to use surf to go anywhere in the game past the halfway mark..

/whining

the pokemon/their designs were pretty cool/more original, compared to others. it was just re-working what was left of possible creatures... filling in/replacing all the pokes we really wanted (until firered/lg and colosseum, and d/p came around) but they weren't totally copied..

nuzleaf and ludicolo were pretty cool ideas, same with ninjask having a use beyond the usual bug trend of being the first weak poke you can get..

I really don't see why people loved gold/silver so much, other than the amount of new features and pokes... but r/s had more new pokes than g/s, even though they got rid of a good 200 that were already in the series..

I don't love r/s... but I definitely don't love g/s.. fire red/leaf green's ability to run made it so much more bearable than the original red/blue (/green), that I like it best..

still... to be fair, I've probably logged more hours in diamond than any game to date... if not just because of breeding.. :p

tl;dr,

r/s was good, but not great. of all the gens, it's probably the least favored for a reason... which should be obvious to most.

I think itll be remade its just tye doesnt because he thinks the only reason the first 2 generations where remade becuase they couldnt connect to the newer pokemons...
