What is everyone's opinion on streaming games on Twitch? Do you guys watch streams? If so, which games? I just recently discovered Twitch and I've come to love it, both streaming myself and watching others. The interactions with people are super fun. But at the same time, sometimes viewers can ruin your fun too. I was streaming SOMA just last night and someone kept saying the game was boring and wanting me to change games.. made me not want to play anymore so I quit..

Anyway I just kinda wanted to see how people felt about Twitch. Do you stream? Not sure if we are allowed to discuss this stuff since I've never seen it brought up before, but it is truly part of gaming culture so I just want other perspectives :)

I think it's a ton of fun! I love streaming on twitch and watching others stream! I usually watch Starcraft 2 streamers or other games I'm playing or interested in learning.

Oh man D: there's always going to be that one viewer that wants to try and ruin your day. Usually when that happens I tell them they are free to not watch and leave cause I'm streaming for my enjoyment. Not looking to stress myself out over streaming a game I'm not interested in. If they continue my mods will ban cause at that point they are just trying to troll or be annoying haha

I love it! It is my main form of entertainment besides YouTube. I have a small group of people I follow who I will watch for whatever, then I will also watch certain games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. I also put on a lot of speedruns of certain games as it is nice background noise when I am doing something. I have streamed too, but my options are kinda limited as I am on wireless and I do not have capture cards. Otherwise, I would stream Animal Crossing all the time haha. I hope to use it more in the future to talk about shared interests with others! Anyway, Miharu gave essentially the best advice for when dealing with problematic users. What that person in your chat said is quite rude to say to someone who is basically giving you free entertainment.

I guess my only gripe about it is the bias in their penalty system.
Too many staff doing their own thing and not reimbursing people when they mess up.

I have a few friends that stream Splatoon so I will watch their streams to support them and play with them if I can. But I probably wouldn’t do it unless I was already friends with them. There’s a few tournaments I watch on stream too, again, if my friend is on one of the competing teams..so I can cheer them on :‘D other than that I don’t really follow specific streamers because of their content/personality but I would probably if I looked into it more. It is a pretty fun way to kill time/alternate to YouTube.

I have a few friends that stream on twitch and its pretty cool. I dont have much time to binge on it but I do like watching some metal slug x/3, Turok speedruns sometimes.

Personally it's not for me, the reason why is because You'd rather want to be playing the game, rather than watching it through a live-stream. :S

I will say however, if you are absolutely bored with nothing going on. I'd recommend Salty bet.

It's a live stream of a fighting game where it randomly picks user created assets from a huge data base to compete against each-other. You can bet their currency type but it holds no real life value.

On a side note you can find some really good niece music it selects occasionally. :)

I have been using twitch to watch streamers play some of my favourite games, mostly just dance lol. I discovered twitch like 2 years ago and have been a part of the community since. I have made a LOT of great friends and we play together, its a lot of fun! I even mod for some streamers so theres that. I have never streamed tho cuz reasons :lemon:

you see, twitch is a platform where some sad people come to your stream just for the sake of trolling and the solution to that is banning or timing them out.

Honestly, I don't really use Twitch, not a fan of that site. Only use it if there is a Nintendo Direct showing just to see the live reactions in the chat.

I think twitch is amazing. I got into twitch because of twitch plays pokemon like 7 years ago. That was so much fun and I was there for a huge portion of it. I'm really big into Starcraft two cause it's fun to watch and play. Plus you can meet a lot of cool people there.
