Friend Code?

I'm not sure where to get my friend code? o.o can anyone help?

DS home screen, the orange smiley face -- the first (or second?) card will have your mii and FC

When you are at the start screen of your 3ds there is an icon at the top, it should be an orange square with a smilie face. Click that! c= Now there is a little icon labeled friend list, one icon to the right is your mii card. When it is high lighted you can look at the top screen and below your name your friend code is listed! =D I hope this helped! c=
