Ok, may I ask something. What does it mean when cataloging its mentioned. I'm talking with another person about getting some items, and they can catalog items. But I don't understand what that means between people on here. Can you please explain?

Ok, may I ask something. What does it mean when cataloging its mentioned. I'm talking with another person about getting some items, and they can catalog items. But I don't understand what that means between people on here. Can you please explain?

Cataloging is when you visit someone's town, or they visit you and pick up an item from them. For example, say the Hero's Cap. Say you wanted to catalog it, we'd visit each other and I'd drop it on the ground, you'd pick it up and then drop it again. By doing this, it registers in the Nook store catalog (the machine next to the door :3). You need to pay for it to get it and it'll be delivered the next day, but it still registers. Be aware though that some items aren't orderable, so once they're cataloged, the only way to get it is by finding it yourself or by another player giving it to you. You get badges if you catalog a certain percentage :3 Hope that helped!!
