Let's face it, the cats are always going to be one of the most popular villager species in AC, so it's no surprise only 2 of them have been left behind:
I've mentioned before that I like the 'robot' villagers, so my vote was easy this time around...but I expect this has the potential to be a tight race since people might want a buddy for Pietro.
I went with Meow. I feel like her design actually works well (whereas Bow's design just didn't work for me), and I honestly find Pierre's appearance to be off-putting.
I picked Meow. I think meow would go great with one of those old space sets from NL if they’re reintroduced. Even if not, I really appreciate the designs that set the villager apart from the ones that look like an regular house cat (I love a lot of them mind you, but I would like the cats to have something like how the dogs have Lucky, in addition to Tangy). I am not a Pietro fan and so I do not like Pierre’s design, though I guess if I had to pick Pierre or Pietro, I’d pick Pierre - I’m a bit bias towards cats .

I love mimes and Pierre is a mime but I'm also old and love the fact the she is designed after the Meowlingual device that reminds me of a Tamagotchi. I'd be thrilled to see either one of them return! I think a mime cat would be super cute tho
Really not that big of a fan of Cats, in Animal Crossing or the real world!! I do like having Ankha around the island. Love the Egyptian look, makes me forget that she is really a Cat. LOL

This is hard, because neither makes me go "WOAH! We need them back!"
But I picked Meow, because I feel like she could look REALLY cute in new games. But, since it looks like she's based on a product, I doubt she'll ever come back.
I like both a lot and would like to see them both return, but if I absolutely had to just pick one, I'd probably have to choose Meow. The cool digital faces that she and Bow have are really neat and could potentially be updated to really be something special when they react to conversations and events. I'm a person who really likes the robot villagers and would like to see a robot for every villager species someday, though I know it's unlikely to happen, and Bow and Meow seem close enough to that due to their being based on technology.
That said, it was really hard not to say Pierre. One of my New Leaf towns is a circus and magic show-themed town and I've always been kind of bummed that Pierre didn't return in the Welcome Amiibo update like other villagers because Pierre would absolutely have fit in among the residents. I like the aesthetic of clowns and mimes, so I'm fond of villagers like Pietro and Marcel, and it would have been nice if he was around for that. Meow edged out the victory here both for the reasons mentioned in the previous paragraph and because I already did this circus town back in New Leaf so there's less thematic relevance for Pierre currently.
I'd pick Meow, especially seeing as I did at one stage consider a more futuristic island and she would have worked wonderfully. I only scrapped it due to the lack of robot villagers, really.
