Anyone know of a bug where a visitor to a town can force the disconnect of a host's multiplayer session?

I was visited twice by a player today, and both times my session was disconnected without my consent.

The top screen shows the mole, and the bottom screen shows "error"; basically some unexplainable error.

When I press the Close button, I appear in front of my train station, my multiplayer session's ended and the visitor is gone.

That's not a bug, it means somebody's internet connection was turned off. One of the visitors might have bad internet connection.

Good to know Momo!

I would consider that a bug however since one visitor's faulty internet connection shouldn't bring down the multiplayer session for everyone as well as forcing the host to "reopen" their gates afterwards.

It is not a bug, it has nothing to do with the game, it has to do with the internet. And it could also mean the person didn't want you there so they flicked the switch on the side of their 3Ds (near the yellow Light), that also turns off the internet.

First off, you misread my post. I was the host, and visited by another player who shutdown my entire session, not the other way around.

That definately qualifies as a bug from a software development point of view as a visitor disconnecting, accidentally even, which might be the case here, shouldn't disconnect the host's multiplayer session for themselves, and everyone else.

Here's an example that may clarify the situation more for you. I like to keep my town open all day while I'm at work, for my friends to visit whenever they want. If this person joins however, they will crash my entire multiplayer session and force me into an error screen. And because I'm not present, I will be unable to reopen the gates for all my friends again.

You may feel tempted to argue that the game should not be left unattended, but that is beside the point. A visitor to a town should not have the ability/power to close the gates for the host without their consent; regardless of their internet connection. This is not working as intended, and therefore it is a bug.

Hope that's informative and sheds some light on what software bugs are! :3
