For all those worried about the potential villager glitch, what is your course of action?

Since Nintendo apparently confirmed that they will be releasing a patch by the end of the month to fix this horrid glitch, I was wondering what your course of action will be from now until then.

I only adopted one villager (Zucker) through the forum and since he's biggest dreamie, I'm mostly worried about him.
For the time being, I will not be engaging in online trades of any kind (item or villager) or online play for that matter, and I decided that it'll be safest to just prevent any villagers from moving out of my town for the time being.
I'm hoping that, at least, that will keep my Zucker safe in the chance that he could be glitched.

What is your course of action?

i've only traded 1 villager who moved out naturally
but i'm still worried about glitching mine and others islands so any other villagers i've had move out with amiibos, i just don't let others take them and i don't invite anyone to my town until they've moved out

I don't think the glitch only applies to amiibo villagers anymore.
In fact, I believe this was fixed.
However; it now seems that you can get the glitch either through an adopted villager or through a voided villager which makes it all the more scary.

This is why I was curious how people were going to try protecting themselves against this until it's patched.

my sister was actually talking about the glitch with voided villagers earlier and now there are so many glitches going on i can't get my head around it so i'm just going to stay away from trading villagers for now whether they were forced out or not until it's fully confirmed to be patched

I've adopted 4 villagers from this forum and so far have not had any issues, but after reading through the glitches thread, it turns out that most people get the glitch after they had someone visit their island or went to another island (it's obviously related to the whole void mechanic, which they should honestly remove) I decided not to do any online play until there's a patch that fixes or at least addresses the bug. I'm not risking losing any of them, trades can wait.

I was a bit worried about letting villagers move out, but Drake moved out two days ago and yesterday I adopted Ruby from an island, and Beau and Bianca, my last two move-ins (both from trades) seem to be doing fine.

I never had a glitched plot but one of my trading partner's plot glitched trying to adopt Ankha. So as of the moment (while the glitch isn't fixed yet), I offer free insurance to any villagers I have an Amiibo of (one time use). I resummon the villager and tt them again to leave for re-adoption. So far the second time never had any issues and both of us are happy (except I had to put more effort in) but I can't leave them dissatisfied like that so I use it as my solution in case the adoption glitched on their end.

If it happened to me, I have several amiibos to kick the villager out so I have nothing to worry about or maybe I'll just TT until it disappears if the kick out option doesn't appear for me.

I don't really trade villagers anyway so I don't have to worry too much. I do visit peoples towns a lot, though. In that aspect, whenever I know someone is going to move out I put my switch in airplane mode and I don't turn it back on until they're safely moved in. I get all my villagers from NMT islands though, so I'm unsure on if that'll ruin my town or not. I've also heard rumors that the glitch hasn't been fixed yet because Nintendo doesn't know how to fix it.

The only reason I thought of holding onto them for them time being is because I like to get my villagers adopted out whenever possible.
I have Octavian that I don't intend on keeping, Zell, Hazel and Norma - not all are popular (maybe besides Octavian), but there could always be someone wanting one of these villagers - you never know what dreamies people have.
It's just with the way things are going, I'd feel very uncertain about letting them get adopted in case they were to glitch my town or the adopter's.

You're absolutely right, I didn't think about that when I let Drake move out then it dawned on me that I couldn't put him up for adoption because he could possibly glitch someone's town. So unfortunately I had to void him :(

There's nothing I really need to do for myself I guess. I have amiibo cards so if it happens to my plot I can fix it easily.
It's happened to a few friends and the plots eventually reset themselves after a few weeks of time pass (either naturally or by TTing day by day forward a few weeks).

Ultimately though, I've kept away from giving away villagers since finding out about the glitch (aside from giving Diana to a friend but they knew/accepted the risk) but it can occur with voided villagers as well. So, it honestly makes any sort of online interaction feel a bit bad not knowing if someone might get the glitch from something in your void (especially since it seems like voids don't reset like they did in NL).

It felt bad letting Lucky void off yesterday, but I just rather not do villager rehoming right now till it's resolved.

Is there a link for the nintendo source where they put the statement? Appreciate it if anyone could link it.
