Flowers

If you had asked me what my favorite thing to do was in past games, I would answer flower breeding. I love hybrids. I love flowers so much. I never thought I would be the type to say I have too many flowers.

I have too many flowers - there, I said it. It wouldn’t be so bad if I still had space to terraform and decorate my town but I have hardly any space. I moved a bunch to my beach but I am still overrun. I never had this problem in other games but I think the reason why it’s such a big thing now is a) flowers can breed by themselves without needing a second of its type next to it and b) I have done a bit of time traveling in order to get dreamies.

All this said, I still love flowers. I just wish I had room to go through with all my decorating ideas. The whole designing my town thing seems daunting especially now that moving flowers is so tedious. I at least am glad that we can’t accidentally run into a black rose and lose it anymore.

My question is - do you consider this a problem or do you welcome how easy it is to get flowers now?

What I do is carry a recycling bin around with me and toss any non hybrids I can just buy again. It helps a little bit at least

Yeah I’m starting to get a whole ton of flowers too haha. I think it also doesn’t help that the regular colors can be hard to come by, so I’m hoarding even those. I need to do a sweep of my town soon and sell the ones I don’t need.

I feel like the new flower system was a one step forward two steps back kinda thing. yeah, it's nice that people can't steal your flowers or whatever, but I rarely play online anyway so I don't really benefit from that, and I wish I could easily pick flowers up instead of having to dig, especially since they spread out of control so quickly.

I was thinking of doing the same thing since I have all flower types and I am sure some people would be happy to receive them as much as I would be happy to be rid of them.

I definitely agree! I do miss the ease of being able to pick them up but am glad it’s one less thing that can be stolen by shady people I let into my town.

What are y'all feeding your flowers on your islands?! Of all the flowers I watered yesterday, I had exactly one new flower spawn this morning. It's like that most days.

I have quite a few regular ones from rainstorms + the seed planting miles initiatives, but usually if they're in my way and annoying me I just sell them.

For me, I at first wanted a decent amount of flowers so I ended up buying some of the ones I was missing on here. Then I won a few auctions, had a lot of rain storms and then before I knew it I was drowning in flowers. I’d say this is probably my fault but I don’t think I had realized it would be an issue until it was too late!

I don’t know if I have more flowers spawning then I did in NL but I am being more organize in NH. I have noticed I do have overabundance of certain flowers but I feel like that from breeding because it a trial and error. Just sell or give away the extra I feel like is the easily way to deal with it. I really enjoy the new flower system over the old one. Mostly because I love running on my island/towns xD so it nice know if I accidentally run over flowers that they aren’t gone especially hybrids been trying for and finally got. Yes it is annoying to dig up and replant but for me other advantages out weight it.

I have 8 new blue roses from this section today... tbh all I do is leave 1 empty space between 4 flowers everyday and I get new growth in the missing spots very often. Remember each flower has a chance to spawn more, so if you leave a spot between 4 flowers, it increases your chances greatly to spawn a new flower between them. If your flowers are all stacked tightly together, the only places you can spawn flowers are the corner spots, so less chance of new growth per day.

Good luck... but let me just say, you don't want this life. My life is now flowers... I can't place furniture, I can't build, I can't drop items here. It's just... flowers.
