Anyone else finding flower watering wonderfully relaxing? I had fallen into a habit of taking watering gigs for like 50 or 99K to get my resources up to invest in turnips. At the time i didn't have any flowers on my island besides the few that grew naturally and a few roses and tulips I had brought to brighten up the place so never really bothered to water them. But as i started to visit other peoples islands and work out in the fields watering their beautifully checkerboarded flowers I have to admit I felt a sense of calm come over me. No one expected anything of me (apart from those people watching every drop and that you could water it in x amount of button presses), it was simple - i developed a pretty good technique and I actually found myself enjoying it. Now I have my own starter hybrids on my island and randomly appear to water friends flowers for nothing but the joy. In real life I can't stand plants or flowers so I find it a little surprising! Anyone else enjoy it or just see it as a means to an end?

I get what you mean. I prefer watering other peoples flowers than my own, lmao.

It's good that you started making your own hybrids! IRL, watering plants can be difficult. I remember i was left to house sit and keeping those plants alive and healthy was hard for someone like me who didn't know squat about watering indoor plants.

I agree that there’s something calming, almost meditational about it. Simple, repetitive tasks can have that effect—it’s why knitting and adult coloring books are so popular.

Doing my watering rounds is a highlight of each day. I’ve not gotten bored of it, and in fact wish there were even more flowers for me to tend.

Depends, my island has way too many flowers so I don't bother unless if i'm going for hybrids. Im glad that flowers don't wilt anymore if you neglect them like in some of the previous games.

I used to enjoy it before my island got overrun with hybrids. now I'm just dreading having to pick every single flower up and lob it somewhere so it gets out of my way. I kinda wish the island cleanup thing in the designer app also counted flowers as something to clean up because they're possibly one of the most annoying obstacles other than buildings to terraform around

also, when you're like me and you just buy tons of the flowers you want, the excitement of a cool new flower definitely fades because you know you could've just bought a truckload of the same flower for a cheap price

the actual watering is quite calming though, I find it very satisfying and I've always enjoyed "chores" in animal crossing games. they get me excited to do something each day

I've always found it tedious and grating to do. It was fun for the first few times, but if you have a large perimeter of flowers, it's so time consuming. I can see why people offer flower watering as a service because not everyone has the time to grind to do that. If only they would implement an irrigation system like sprinklers, my life would be made much easier. 😅

I love watering flowers! I was one of the people who would water their flowers one by one in New Leaf every day just to make them sparkle.

I love it so much! For the longest time I just had them on a field for breeding more, until I started to wonder what I actually want to do with theme once I had enough? That really hit me of the tracks, so I started to actually use them to decorate different areas feeling somehow sad. By the time I was about to finish decorating in a way that suited my vision I was more than happy to see: I don't have enough of my lil baby hybrids! So I set some of them aside to start breeding them again, and that made me happier than anything else!
I visit my field every morning, rearranging the newcomers and watering them, that brings so much joy.

I think I'd enjoy it more if the tools didn't explode in my little knob hands.

Like every time I use my golden watering can, I'm just waiting for the day it turns into pieces of shrapnel.

Agreed that is annoying but alongside my flower watering hobby has been my collecting of various designs of watering cans from different islands. I feel like a cub scout am always prepared!

I know what you mean, my island is starting to run out of space I started on a desperate quest to get black roses to turn gold but just ended up with hundreds more red and pinks and like a handful of blacks! I am thinking might have to ship em at one point too!

Now they just need to add knitting and coloring books to AC and my life will be complete!

I never really cared for watering flowers before (I set my town to the beautiful ordinance in NL so I didn't have to worry about it), but the whole vibe of NH is different enough that I am enjoying it. I like to visit my patch and see what popped up overnight (or the rest of the island, if it rained!) and also seeing what new flowers my friends got when I visit them.

I found that it could easily get overwhelming to go for all the hybrids, so I've been focusing on 1-2 breeds at a time. That keeps my patch manageable and maintains my sanity. :D

I don't mind watering flowers, but I don't usually have time for it.

I like the sloshing sound the watering can makes as you run around the island with it. Little details like that make me love the game all the more.

Honestly I don't like it. If I could keep my 5 star rating without flowers, I would trash all of them off my island, hybrid or not. Since the beggining I had a flower problem as they duplicated faster than weeds. and for hours I had to trow them.

I hate flowers, I hide them behind cliffs.

Generally, love it.
In this game? Eh...
Watering cans breaking is a no for me when I just want to water flowers. The fact they don't wilt makes me feel like they're not worth watering either. And the regular cans which water 6 at a time is cool but the animation is kinda slow for me. I liked it when it was one at a time, but the flimsy can breaks after like 0.5 uses.

It's pretty zen. I got more satisfaction from it in previous games when;
a) The flowers wilted and actually gave you a reason to water them, and
b) The watering cans didn't break every five minutes

I still enjoy it though. I only really do it on the gardens I'm growing hybrids in.

I think at first wateting flowers can be relaxing but it can be a chore when u have too many, like my self! tho i have downscaled a lot what i used to have, phew!! i especially love the watering animation and the sound 🥺

I enjoy watering my flowers, but the constant breaking of the watering cans... not so much, lol.
