I know that putting flowers in a checker board pattern is key but does it depend on the color flowers? What would be faster?

For example if I was trying to make a pink roses what would be faster?
-to put a pattern of just pink roses (to duplicate itself)
-do a pattern of white/red roses to get a pink rose

The fastest way is to separate your pink roses so they aren't touching each other or any other roses and then water them to clone them. Most other combinations of roses including two pink roses give you a chance to breed something other than a pink rose, so cloning is better than cross breeding.

The other answer you got was great, but I just wanted pop in to link to this guide on hybrids in case you're interested. It covers the basics and addresses some common misconceptions. For example, the checkerboard pattern is actually not the best for many reasons. If you're planning on working with hybrids more beyond your pink roses, I'd recommend checking it out!
