Hey, I'm new this forum, but not to Animal Crossing I have Wild World, and City Folk! But, not matter what I do I can't catch any fish for the life of me! I have never on any of the games have been able to! Can anyone help me, I've tried everything and am at a loss. Thanks

You just cast the line in front of one and if it gets its attention, they'll start trying for it. Wait until you hear a sploosh sound and push the A button. I like to close my eyes and just listen for that sound because if I'm watching it, I will hit the button when the fish is just bumping against the hook.

Wear earphones, close your eyes and listen for the big splash to hit the button

This works for me. If fishing in the river, cast your line up stream from the fish and let it float down to it. I catch 99% of the fishes I try for.
Good Luck.

Like the others said, the splash is the easiest way. You can just wait for the bobber to go under the water too (a visual cue), but it's a lot harder to judge the timing on.

does this work for catching share/rare fishes too? i've seen/tried to catch sharks dozens of times but i've never been able to catch them, i can only catch regular fishes =u=
i usually only rely when the bobber goes under water. is this my problem?

I do what everyone else apparently does-- I close my eyes and listen for it. The visuals just get me off. Also, I don't know why this helps me at all, but when I cast my line I close my eyes, stick my face within inches of the screen, and pretend like I'm really there (I do this without headphones; my headphones constantly distort...speaking of which, I can't find headphones that don't distort if you do as much as touch the male end while using them in a 3DS). But honestly, I'm a sucky fisher too. I get nervous when I see a big fish and then I can't focus.

yes it works for sharks to, just listen to the splash but with sharks and rare fish you have to be quick
