hi all, just wanted to give some tips for the fishing tourney as we've already started down here in aussieland.

1. if you can, stock up on fish bait, makes it much quicker to catch fish as you don't have to run around and look for them

2. have been corrected, sell your fisht o cj for more money then nooks, gotta get dem bells

3. make sure you have enough crafting material ready, as the rods break easily

4 and most importantly, have fun, and let me know what prizes you get

Why does CJ buy them for less? I thought he bought them for more, similar to how Flick buys bugs for more from you?

This is what I thought too. Flick and CJ buys insects and fish at a premium.

im not entirely sure why, but during the fishing toruney he buys what you catch for less of a price then the nooks do. i have no idea why, but thats just something my boyfriend found when comparing the price of selling a red snapper between the 2 of them.

What are the prizes like? Can you only get one prize per day or can you get the whole "set"?

okay so hwat u need is 10 points before prize, but you can get as many points as you want an essentially get as many prizes as you wan, so far ive gotten around 20ish points and have got a painting of a fish and a fishing rod stand, both which are new to the ac series and i find both very cute

Im pretty sure you can get the whole set. I've gotten like 6 things so far.

CJ definitely buys the fish at premium prices! I just checked with a zebra turkey fish. The nooklings buy it at 500 bells while CJ buys it at 750 bells

okay interesting, im glad tahts the case then, i will update my original post

oops I posted this in the other thread about FT items lol.
anyway I had a glitch where during a round my timer and fish count disappeared. at the end of the round my character said I had caught zero fish when I had in fact caught two. it didn't affect the dialogue with CJ though, he still counted my points for the fish I had caught as normal.

From what I've seen so far--if you only catch fish while the 3 minute timer is going on, your fishing rod shouldn't break. At least that's been my experience. If you catch something as the timer ends/after the timer ends your rod will break though.

From what I've seen so far--if you only catch fish while the 3 minute timer is going on, your fishing rod shouldn't break. At least that's been my experience. If you catch something as the timer ends/after the timer ends your rod will break though.

a fun thing ive discovered, u can do it with visitors and then u dont have to pay the entry fee and you get bonus points for working in groups. makes it way easier to collect items

Love the game and the concept of this version's fishing tourney so far, but gutted it doesn't look like we'll be getting the fish set from NL, absolutely loved the cute creature furniture!!

So do we only get one chance at catching as many fish as possible while the 3 minute timer is on? I was desperately running round by the water trying to get fish and hardly any appeared so I only got 2

Those are the items that a guy on youtube mentioned. Seems odd to have a wall without a matching floor.

My favorite was the red snapper chair, and the look it gave you while you sat on it.

nope, you just pay 500 every time after that to go again and stack all ur points up
