Noticed today a chip on my blue XL's paint. At first I was like ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) then (ಥ﹏ಥ) after a bit (ಠ_ಠ) but now I'm finally (⌐■_■) I'm sad that I was careless but a little wear happens. I only have a bottom screen protector and thinking about getting a top one along with crystal armor.
Are top protector screens worth it?
P.s I also use a microfiber cloth to clean it.

Also what kind of accidents happened to your 3DS?
 
I don't know about that protective stuff, I pretty much treat my 3DS like it's made of glass. <<;

It's currently undamaged but if it were to get chipped I'd be bummed out for the longest time. I'm a little obsessive when it comes to stuff like that so when I notice a flaw a notice the flaws forever. *glances at old cellphone that no longer works* *twitches at the dinged a buffed and scratched corners*
 
Not even a week in from purchasing it, my sister somehow managed to put some kind of weird scratch on my 3DS screen -.-
 
my 3DS got its first scratch not too long ago as well.
I got a battery pack with my 3DS for christmas and finally decided to install it about a week ago. I was showing my dad how it would go in and I scratched the back with one of the nails from the battery pack :| I was a little bit bummed out, but not too much since I don't use the back piece anymore with the new battery pack.
I would love to get a protective case for it, but I want to protect both the top and the bottom, and I don't think any cases would fit with the battery pack. I might get one of those plastic cases with separate top and bottom pieces and just protect the top at the very least. I need to get screen protectors, too... I would be quite sad if it got any more scratches.
 
My XL has a burn in the back of it from my stove. I think it gives it character.
 
Similar to Officer Berry, I treat my 3DS like it was my baby. I don't have any protective 'armour' for it, however, I do keep it in its leather case when not using it.

I literally chuck my 3DS around.

I knocked my DS off my bed side table at about 1am last night as I was rolling about in bed, I switched on the light to check it was okay despite it landing on a very fluffy rug! It was more important than my sleep. :3
 
I am really clumsy and drop my 3DS a lot, but my 3DS is made out of Quality Nintendium™, and will never break.
 
My aqua blue 3DS has a teeny tiny little chip in it, but it feels like a chip in my heart :'( was soooo upset when i spotted it, but i don't use any kind of protection on it, no screen protecters or anything. I give it a wip with the wipey cloth thing that came with it from time to time, so what do i expect?

My 3DS XL is about 7 months old and it has a few scratches here and there, but no chips.

By the way, I've seen a topic on Gamefaqs that has EXACTLY the same name as this one.

Nothing on my XL's but with my Flame Red OG 3DS, I have minor chips in the parts you can connect charms to from falls when I first got it.

I don't even use a case for my 3DS It's just safely tucked away on a shelf when I'm not using it! xD Oddly enough it's right next to one of my decorative hand axes.

...I think I'm going to move it now. ._.
 
My 3DS XL is my baby. ;w;

I just use a napkin and wipe it around every 5 minutes, haha. But no screen protector or anything.

I just use a hard case for it when I'm not using it.
 
I have a minor paint chipping where the green streetpass light is on my blue 3DS and, on my new XL I have a teeny tiny scratch on the top screen cant see it though so well so im okay.

The paint chip I mentioned is the top half, bottom left corner. I have some AC decals I can use to cover it so it wasn't too bad. The only thing that made me real sad was when I noticed it, my friend at the time was putting new screen protectors on his 3DS. I was a little jealous but oh well =P
