Fire Emblem Awakening - Donnel

Does anyone have a good way of succesfully getting Donnel?I have been trying for two hours,and have nearly broken my 3DS and tablet many times since this is absolutely the most annoying thing I have ever seen in a game.I heard he is a very good fighter later on,so I really want him,but at this rate it will take me days to get him.Please help.:c

He's only good because of aptitude, if you want results it's best that you pair him with federick, it may be hard but it'll work.

He isn't anything special, he's just a lesser version of Gerome if you set up Cherche correctly imo.

I pair him up with stronger units and then have them collectively attempt to destroy the majority of units on the map along with have Donnel fight/paired with the character fighting the boss.

There is an archer towards the upper right, you can surround him with three other units then have Donnel attack from the front. The archer won't be able to attack anyone as long as he's boxed in, so you can get exp for Donnel quickly this way

All of the above work really well, and if you want to know a good use for Donnel, use a second seal on him and make him a mercenary, and then a master to make him a Hero(use axes as the hero, not swords). Get Sol from Hero, and move on to Warrior. Thats the most effective way Ive found for Donnel.

Omg I always wondered the same, I've basically never used him and I get by just fine. He's a waste of space but I'm not just gonna off him on the field like that.

Donnel has to be the most broken unit in the game after the children characters, he freaking tanks everything in sight.

As a villager not so much, but once you second seal him he'll get the job done.

Mhm. Like I said. I prefer him as a Warrior that went through Mercenary and Hero to get skills

I still don't see how he's that great. He can be good, but you really have to go out of your way to do that. If you're going so far out of your way to make Donnel good, then you should probably pick someone else to level up instead because it'll go by faster and they'll have around the same or better stats than him.
