Final Fantasy VII Remake - Teaser Trailer (again)

I am so excited for this game omggggggggggggg. Seeing my girl Aerith just makes me smile, though there's something a little off about her face to me, admittedly--still beautiful. It's def gonna take them a while but I'm excited for any progress crumbs they feed us.

Really looking forward to it. The only thing I don't like is they said, yet again, that this is coming out in chunks. Just release it as an entire game for crying out loud. Even though I'm excited, I'll probably wait until there's a "complete" edition.

I was so hyped for this 4 years ago. Now, not so much. I mean, I really hope it turns out great but I don't have the same faith in Square that I used to have. First of all, I think releasing the game in episodes is a mistake. I understand that developing a game like this costs a lot and that they need to milk it for as many gils as possible to turn a decent profit, but I don't think Final Fantasy VII benefits from being turned into three full length, full price games (or whatever number they said if they even mentioned a number). Heck, FFVII is only like 40 hours long on a normal playthrough. Now there's talk of 150-160 hours for this one? That's gonna be a lot of padding. Another thing is that Final Fantasy VII was quite goofy at times and it worked really well with the more cartoony graphics. I just don't see how they're supposed to make that stuff work with these super detailed, realistic graphics. I'm afraid that those bits will look out of place or maybe even completely cut from this remake.

At least they've fed Cloud properly since the trailer 4 years ago.

I'll give this a hard pass.

I don't totally hate FFVII, but it's not even close to my favourite in the series, so I already lacked the hype for this.

On top of that, everything I've seen suggests it takes heavily from FFXV. I hated that game, it basically played itself and was nothing but style over substance. Can't say I really care about a game that looks to take heavy 'inspiration' from that turd.

I'm interested in it since the 7th FF is absolutely unplayable unless you were lucky to play it when it came out - I mean, it's a 22 year old game. I wonder if it will be similar to the modern FF (XIII-XV) or like the older ones. Honestly, the only older FF I like is IX, the rest are just too archaic to play at this point. X had an interesting story but I got annoyed with all the battles, I hate it when games have cinematic stories for the first 2 hours, then go "okay, that's it for the intro, enjoy hours and hours of battles". I'm hoping it will be more like XIII and XV - meaningful.

I'm glad Square Enix are remaking it, but honestly they shouldn't have cancelled the DLC for FF XV. It's just wrong especially after all the "thank you, dear fans" videos when Royal Edition was announced...

Anyway, FF 7 is a game I'll definitely take a look at but I'm not excited for it. At this point it's unknown what it will be.
